April 2026
WW2: Bunker Simulator, developed by BEPLAYER and Art Games Studio S.A. and published by Art Games Studio S.A. and Gaming Factory, is an ambitious attempt to merge multiple genres into a single experience. Rather than focusing purely on frontline combat, it shifts the perspective to a more confined and arguably more stressful role—defending and maintaining a bunker during the Normandy campaign. The result is a hybrid of first-person shooting, survival management, and light simulation, where success depends not just on fighting skill but on how well you handle a constant stream of responsibilities under pressure. At the center of the experience is a gameplay loop that blends combat with routine survival tasks. Players must defend their position from incoming enemy forces using mounted weapons such as machine guns, anti-aircraft guns, and anti-tank cannons. These defensive sequences can create moments of tension, particularly when multiple threats converge at once. However, combat is only one part of the equation. Between attacks, players are responsible for maintaining the bunker and themselves—cooking food, managing limited supplies, treating injuries, and ensuring that basic needs like hunger and fatigue are addressed. This constant juggling of priorities is what gives the game its identity, creating a sense of pressure that extends beyond the battlefield. One of the more interesting systems is the inclusion of communication mechanics, such as requesting supply drops using Morse code. This adds a layer of immersion and reinforces the idea that you are operating in isolation, relying on limited tools to survive. Scavenging also plays a key role, as players must search fallen enemies and the surrounding environment for resources. These elements contribute to the overall feeling of scarcity, where every item has value and poor decisions can have lasting consequences. Despite these strengths, the execution of the game’s systems is uneven. Combat, while functional, lacks the responsiveness and polish expected from dedicated shooters. Weapon handling can feel stiff, and enemy AI behavior is inconsistent, sometimes failing to provide a meaningful challenge and other times behaving unpredictably. This inconsistency can break immersion, particularly during moments that are meant to feel intense or strategic. The survival mechanics, while conceptually strong, can also become repetitive over time. Tasks such as cooking, repairing, and managing supplies are performed frequently, and without significant variation, they begin to feel routine rather than engaging. The day-to-day structure of the game reinforces this repetition, as each cycle follows a similar pattern with only minor changes. While this can create a sense of realism, it also limits the game’s ability to maintain long-term interest. Visually, the game adopts a practical approach, focusing on functionality rather than detail. The bunker environment is appropriately confined and utilitarian, capturing the claustrophobic nature of the setting. However, the overall presentation lacks refinement, with basic textures and limited environmental variety. While there are moments where the atmosphere works—particularly during nighttime or quieter intervals—the technical limitations are noticeable and prevent the game from fully immersing the player. The pacing of WW2: Bunker Simulator is another aspect that may divide players. The combination of combat and maintenance tasks creates a rhythm that can feel immersive in short sessions, but extended play can highlight the repetitive nature of its systems. Without significant changes in objectives or mechanics, the experience can begin to feel predictable once the player becomes familiar with its structure. That said, the game’s ambition is clear. It attempts to portray a different side of wartime experience, focusing on the strain of holding a position rather than advancing through it. When its systems align, it can deliver moments that feel genuinely tense, where managing limited resources and responding to sudden threats creates a sense of urgency. These moments highlight what the game is trying to achieve, even if it does not always succeed consistently. Ultimately, WW2: Bunker Simulator is a game defined by its ideas more than its execution. It offers a unique blend of mechanics that set it apart from traditional shooters, but its lack of polish and repetitive structure prevent it from fully realizing its potential. For players interested in experimental gameplay or simulation-heavy experiences, it provides something different to explore. For those seeking a more refined or consistently engaging war game, it may feel uneven and limited over time. Rating: 7/10

its a good game and it has SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much potential, but i think the developer needs to get back to the game and make it better. I have both DLCs, and so far havent made it past day 6 in the normal game and day 4 in the orgins. its hard to deal with enemies at all hours of the day however, it's a great game and I wuold recommend it to others because it can be an even better game than it is now

Great game, the DLC that allows playing as Germany isn't very fun sometimes because the game decides to meme you out sometimes and will spawn an entire army, lol. Amazing game otherwise.
