This game sat in my wish list for a long time, but I finally gave in and got it during a sale. I've never played (nor looked into) an extraction shooter, so this game is a first for me in this genre. I'm a middle-aged player, my reaction times are trash, and I lean "casual" when it comes to gaming due to work-life balance. This game is hard, but, as a casual player, I really like that I can alter how the game plays in the options so that I don't feel frustrated by the difficulty. I can bend the game to a progression and fighting level that suits my IRL willingness to play and fight, which is refreshing compared to standard options that lump the game and player into one mode. I love the difficulty granularity provided! The runs are short, between 5-30 minutes, so it's great to dive in and then "extract" myself from the game. This game runs exceptionally well on my potato work computer, which is one reason why I've racked up hours, using post-lunch down-time to go for a jaunt in the Zone. The guns can be really satisfying when I find ones that work with how I play, and I swap them out based on the mission I will take. The base building for character development depends on your difficulty level and character goals and play style. Even with my easier settings, I've been jump-scared a bunch of times, died from my own dumb mistakes, and (now) strongly understand how threats can quickly escalate and end a run. I really enjoy this game. I don't know how long I will play it for, but at 33 hours I've only unlocked the first 3 levels (of 6 total, AFAIK), and I feel like I've already exceeded my money's worth. Pro-tip: The use of a Wiki is required. There's no explanation or hand-holding with this game, and at some point I had to give in and start reading about things in the game.

its great. it scratches an itch without forcing me to be online or in a pvp mode of some kind. i understand that multiplayer and pvp are coming and im all for that. please dont force an online connection or remove my offline single-player or i will be unable to play when i move more rural. any other situation though, the game is perfect. tarkov without the toxic

Fun pixel art singleplayer tarkov-like. UI is atrocious. No notifications when you can level up or upgrade. Inventory is lacking in basic QoL functions. No idea whenever a NPC has a new quest. The hideout upgrading is weird. Very frustrating, puts me off. THE WHOLE THING NEEDS A REWORK!!! Coming back after a year or so and seeing that not much has changed in this area is disappointing and discouraging. On the other hand it speaks on how good the game is, if it makes me look past these issues.
