I am not sure how I got sucked into 55 hours of this game at the time of writing this review. I was concerned with the low-poly graphics not being immersive, but I was wrong. Less is more. I think my imagination fills in the rest and really makes it engaging, plus a fun base building system (build anywhere), and fun weapons to go find in interesting places held by scary bosses. This is one of the few games to give me jump scare when a sneaky zombo pops around a corner after waiting for you there. Unscripted fun at it's best. Worth every penny at full price.
Current obsession game. Beautifully simple with enough depth to continue driving exploration. Satisfying combat, world, survival, building, capable of being relaxing or immensely challenging. Honestly it almost has it all. If you like zombie survival games you'll love it. Can't recommend enough for its target audience. Because I know the dev has a reputation of listening to his player base, (Hallelujah) I do want to list a few things that I personally would love to see added. Take them or leave them. Its your game and I'll still be playing it regardless as more updates come out. - Companions/PETS I'm tired of killing zombie dogs I want a healthy one in my house and to take on missions with me. His own armor and to have him carry some things for me. - 2-wheeled vehicles. Bicycle, dirt bike, chopper, sport bike, etc - Boat? Helicopter?? These might be too overpowered for what the vibe is trying to be but for the helicopter idea at least you could balance it by making it highly noisy to attract zombies from super far so you can't just land in the middle of a city or make it take a special rare fuel - Customized or weaponized vehicles or at least the ability to shoot my sidearm while driving. My bumper keeps getting red stains on it and the monthly car wash and repair bills are getting excessive - Settlements in addition to just base building? Being able to attract and build up something resembling civilization again to include vendors and farmers/workers and even building a small militia to take on the other factions. Maybe they could even do the same and build up random FOBs and overtime larger bases on the map. Have each faction attack every other faction so I have more to defend against. I'm aware this one would be the most ambitious and change the game the most but it's just a thought. I'm imagining what Fallout 4's settlement system could've been. - The bounty board in the safe zone... I saw it for the first time and got so excited to have randomly generated SUPER high leveled enemies to fight for high rewards only to find it's not working yet. Can't wait to see that. - Variable optics and binoculars por favor - Advanced GPS that offers a minimap? - Modding support - This is super small but I feel like the inventory and storage could use a small rework especially for us who like playing with backpack inception turned off. Little things like not being able to put ammo cans in the larger placed ammo crate and things like that. Just some of the categorizations like that I feel like don't 100% fit. - Just thought of this one: armor set specific bonuses!!! Again, these are all just suggestions/dreams from a random guy but man I think they would be fun and that this would be the perfect game for some of them. Can't wait to see where the game goes as it continues in its development. Keep up the great work. EDIT: Immediately after posting I scrolled down and reread the roadmap and... I'm so happy to see a lot of these already being planned I can't wait. I do feel slightly stupid now though
