First up, please ignore all the people claiming this is just like Core Keeper or a ripoff. I can't help but feel they're not complaining about the game's merits and just want to raise a fuss, kind of like the flax Doom clones and SV-likes keep getting. So, if this isn't Core Keeper but is in the same genre of underground exploration, what is Return From Core? It's a very heavily story-focused, highly linear game where you meet, take care of, and grow closer to monster girls. There is automation and building efficient systems, there is an RPG system with stats and interesting abilities, and there is cooking here for interesting buffs, but the whole of it is, Do you want monster girls? If yes, please get this. I really enjoyed the system, especially when it was revamped to have less of a focus on the grind of making hundreds of specific materials to upgrade things. Crafting was very heavily streamlined, you have to engage with all the content rather than having it as an optional thing, and having the monster girls join you in combat was a great addition. They break the game as every boss was designed for taking it solo, without other characters taking threat and pumping up the damage, but it is just fun. I've been playing this since early access and it's come such a long way. There are still issues, of course: English translation isn't the best, controller support is crap, and there are bugs like the missing inventory issue. But, if you want a game that's got monster girls (again, very key here), some automation, and exploring a decent plot with a harem protagonist that isn't a blank slate that's for you to self-insert, please consider getting this.

So far this game is a 7/10 for me. The gameplay is nothing too new or fancy. Farming, combat and mining, the usual. There just needs to be more refining and quality of life updates. As you progress you can automate things and you have NPC to assist you or help you fight. The NPC characters are cute and are often better in combat than you are. The translation isn't great but not world breaking like the other reviews. From the other reviews, I thought I had to learn a new langauge to play this game. But it's just not the best translation, but understandable. As long as its updated and improve with the upcoming 1.0 release, I don't see a problem with it. There are also complain about lots of bugs. Here's what I have encounter so far: 1) Quest involving killing certain enemy might not register kill, if kill by range attack (pickaxe throwing) 2) If moving platform don't come to a full stop, you'll just fell off? 3) Will continue to water even if water can is empty, no notification, no progress either. Some recommedations: 1) Maybe allow it so companion favoritism raise slowly when you are in the same party as them 2) A way to craft from chest/quick deposit to nearby chest from inventory 3) Increase AI ally work (farming) efficency, they are very, very slow to do any task. 4) Need to be able to click and hold to plant seed, planting each is a pain. 5) Bulk crafting

This is A Core Keeper like game if developed by Chinese Developer. I think? but still either way it's a solid standing on its own game with differences enough to not be a clone all together. So Far I haven't gotten too far into it. but you can manage NPC Monster Girls. (My life for monster girls~) have them do automated tasks and help out in combat as as well. the art is pretty decent. the gameplay is nice too, but it lacks a little variety so far as I have seen. but I will play more to update this review in time. Never the less. it's a working game, outside of some minor bugs. I recommend it eitherway. my only disappointment is a lack of more character creation options and some other features that would be nice to consider like coop or mods

Take my life-saving advice and complete all the "story" tutorial missions for level 1-3 FIRST; I was playing minecraft when instead the actual game was supposed to be satisfactory, being able to make components in minutes rather than painstakingly take hours to make a house. It took me twelve hours of running around trying to make a nice house that I realized you were SUPPOSED to do the quests first. Although I guess you could say this is a positive since the tutorial blends into the gameplay so seamlessly it was impossible for me to tell that I was actually still doing a tutorial.
