I can only recommend this if it's on sale. I completed a 100% playthrough in about 3 hours with no guide, so I'd say that's the upper end of your playtime. There really isn't much outside of the desired path to experience, but it's a solid indie title. Pros: - Interesting story, especially if you take time to read lore notes spread throughout - Couple of effective spooky moments. Nothing crazy, but I got a few good full-body chills. - SOME fun puzzles - Voice Acting. I don't speak Cantonese, but the delivery felt and sounded genuine consistently Cons: - Lack of player direction. I'll give some leniency for translation, but it boils down to "find something" or "get to place" with rarely any context or clues as to what you're looking for or where you want to go. You're going to be pixel hunting for your icon to turn into an eye a bit. (hence the "SOME" part of fun puzzles in the pros) - Adds ideas only to be used once. It's like teaching you how to ride a bike, then selling the bike and getting you a skateboard. - MacGuffins, everywhere! "Something should be on the floor here..." Oh really? How do you know that? - Most of the run/hide sequences are boring and frustrating. You run barely faster than you walk. There's a hide mechanic, but most sequences don't give you places to hide (that I saw) and it just says "stay hidden or die". - Some sections drag on a bit too long, slowed down only by the game forcing your movement to a crawl. - Cheap death "sequences". Monster jump-scares you and a red border shows on screen. Meh. I realize it looks like the cons are bigger than the pros, but it's only because there are specific things that frustrated me or kept me from enjoying certain sections of the game. Overall, I'd still give this an above average rating for a cheap indie horror title. That said, for what I got, I kinda feel like it could, and should, be a little cheaper.
Honestly Great horror game, the puzzles were fun, the story was alr and the gameplay was also great. Usually I'm not a fan of stealth segments in games but in this one they were really well done, same with some chases. Also great atmosphere and visuals, pretty scary too. I def recommend and I give it about an 8.5/10. I was surprised by good it was and I'm not kidding.
