This is one of THE games of all time to me. I come back to it every once in a while and just do another run-through of it because it just feels so refreshing. I love how the dev has talked about his experience being a gas station attendant influencing his writing, because it's just really cool how much humanity he gives all the weird little mons by offering only snippets of familiar conversation. It feels so beautiful. Live in a community. Do people favors. Every day is all there is...Also it feels crazy good to use items and upgrades to get frankly ridiculous amounts of Whispers <3

The legacy of ‘Moon: Remix RPG Adventure’ is long and storied. 24 Killers owes a great deal to it, and embodies the same spirit. It is charming adventure where you see yourself, a spirit from beyond the mortal world in possession of a long-dead corpse, tasked with bringing a wide variety of quirky monsters up to the surface, helping them with their problems, befriending them, and learning to move past your bitter initial outlook on existence. The games visuals and audio are as charming as they are unique. The game that 24 Killers visually reminds me the most of is Digimon World for the PS1 (even though they don’t look particularly similar, although the vibes are definitely aligned). A lot of mixed media between the backgrounds, the character models, and the character portraits during dialogue. The music is similarly eclectic and excellent, as is the general sound design of moving around the island and speaking to its inhabitants. The gameplay loop involved roaming the desert island you find yourself on, getting new monsters out of an underground bunker to the surface, and doing a side quest for them so that you can take a picture of them to upgrade your stats and abilities. The writing is weird, but charming, and there is a surprising amount of it too. There are no real quest markers to navigate you (you do have a list of monsters and which you’ve taken a picture of, but the side quests do not have any such reminders). Instead, you get into a rhythm of exploration and conversation, dealing with whatever comes up over a day or so. You also collect currency, called Whispers, which you can use to purchase consumable items and decorations for your, initially meagre, accommodation. Throughout the entire run time of the game, the prevailing atmosphere is one of relaxation and chill vibes, There is no overarching threat to deal with, not even a real threat to your person aside from a very territorial fish. You are free to roam around at your leisure, and leisurely your time shall be. You can even unlock modifiers for future playthroughs, if you want to dive back into the experience again. It's clear that a lot of love went into 24 Killers. It is simultaneously bizarre and endearing, and heartfelt at certain moments. If you like quirky, unique experiences to spend a relaxing evening with, then I can heartily recommend this game.

What a gem! You can really feel the love poured into every facet of this game. It made me homesick for a place I've never been to. Everything was delightful; from the sound design, the writing, the soundtrack (I loved Gunther's songs!) and especially the character design and art style. Plus it has great replayability so what else can you ask for? Great job, Todd!!

A cute little game about give love, inspired by love-de-lic games like: moon, chulip or chibi-robo, once you finished it the first time, the game encourages you to beat it many times, faster and faster, so it has a lot of replayability also it's pretty cheap, you should play it
