Okay, I dont think any game deserves a bad review unless its truly terrible in any way. So I will give this game positives for its interesting story and artstyle. but what made this game truly unberible was how tedious it was at some points like, you cant just do something else has to come up and get in your way so the game can have more time. and the story is so intriging that it makes some of the filler feel like a slog. an example of this is chapter 3, when you have to get to the theatre, theres a broken down car in the way. Why? so it could show that the symbol was a flower company? they didnt have to make you backtrack aaaaalll the way to the other side of the map and find the tire repair guy, and if you don't know who the hell the tire repair guy is, your forced to run across the map and back looking for a dude in a coorner that barely has any hints that hes a tire repair guy. and dont get me started on chapter 2, there is sooooo much unessesary filler in chapter 2. so, you need to make your girlfreind feel better by buying a cake, but before you can get to the pastry shop, 3 goons block your patch and you cant fight. so what do you do? you go into the arcade and "learn to fight" by helping an old man beat a video game in his dreams, only to get a kinda lame fighting system (what if he had uniqe moves and them you hit buttons? like mario and luigui) after you go to the pastry shop. you got the cake right? noooooo the chef quit and took all of the ingredients with them! so you need to spend 20 minutes running around finding diffrent items and catching chickens to get the ingredients, but can you make the cake? nooooo the person there sucks at cooking so you have to find the pastry chef and get them back. you think you would just talk to them right? NOOOOO you have to go into their dreams to rig a cooking competition. you would think everything you need is in the dream right? nooooo you need to go back to the real world and waste time running around to get 3 things that rig the competiton. and when you do that, you can finnaly go back and get the cake... until A BULLY FROM EARLIER COMES ALONG AND STEALS THE CAKE and a bunch of other stuff happens leading to going into the bullies dream and "freeing" him. then your girlfreind (who can manipulate reality btw) erases him from existence. there was so much stuff in chapter 2 that just made me think "why?" we didnt have to go to the arcade for that crappy fighitng mechanic, we didnt have to find 3 diffrent items for the pastry chef, you could remove those parts, and the game would be the same! I will still finish the game, and maybe edit my review based on that,

It broke me in the best way. The art is beautiful, and the story about pain, healing, and the messy beauty of being human, ngl it hits deep. The ending? It was beautiful, and I’m still thinking about it. I honestly hope there will be a day when I completely forget the story, just so I can replay it and experience it all over again. 11/10

don't buy this game if you are looking for great gameplay, because it mostly consists of fetch quests. With that being said, the story, the setting and the characters are all very well done. Love the ending!

It's a story-driven pixel art adventure game that mix slice-of-life, fantasy & psychology. Though most tasks are similar to point & click adventure, the game also incorporates some sequence input for fighting mini game, & simple stealth mission. The strong points of the game lies in the stage design, music, and story. Stage design looks beautiful especially the town where Indonesians might find them relatable. Music match with the overall atmosphere of the game albeit short & becomes repetitive when playing the game, though I enjoy to listen to some of them once in a while to relax. The story was a bit confusing at first for my small brain especially at early stage, but at soon as it got closer to the end, it became much clearer and turns out it was a tear-jerking story about past trauma & personal struggle. If I were to nitpick, there area few minor flaws. The save system is a little bit weird. It doesn't exactly load to the moment you save, but instead to the beginning of the area/event/cutscene as if you just enter that area or start that event/cutscene. And the other thing is there are no wrong choice/action that can impact the ending (i.e. multiple endings), though I understand that may be due to time & budget constraints or simply design choice. Overall, I can recommend this game especially to those who love story-driven game.

One of the most emotional stories I've ever experienced in a game. The story starts out simple in its presentation - even somewhat childlike - but as more threads come together it becomes something deep that really sticks with you. The retro pixel art is very well done, and the music/audio design is exceptional. I loved exploring the town and other areas. You can PET ALL THE CATS! Gameplay is mostly a mix of point & click puzzles and QTEs: some bits felt a little tacked on for the sake of adding interactivity (even if not necessary in the moment). While the mechanics could occasionally be tedious, it was never difficult and messing up wasn't punishing. If you are looking for a profound emotional story in a beautiful package, look no further than A Space for the Unbound.
