Love the game - played for countless hours on the demo before the 1.0 launch, so I have many more hours than steam shows. Great dev team, great game. Loved PUD too trippleB! The one issue I see with the game, its far to easy to delete a base deck and than have no clue how to rebuild it. Protect the base decks from deletion. I just lost Magnor's base deck and need to rebuild it and so far cant find it published anywhere.

Really good game. Story was interesting and the poker mechanics combined with card ability synergies are really interesting, plus there are 5 characters to choose from with many abilities. Bought on a deep discount, really worth it.

This game commits hard to the card based adventure aspect. With all story being told through cards, with assistance from some fantastic voice acting and visual and audio effects to help immerse you in the adventure. It takes a bit to level up and unlock the more interesting aspects of the different characters. But once you get going the characters play noticeably differently and its a lot of fun unlocking new cards to build up decks for each character. On a technical level, the game is really good about picking your best poker hand most of the time. Only needing to manually allocate cards occasionally. This, along with being able to mash space bar to get through animations keeps the pace up. I only have a few complaints. First is that everytime my character takes damage I get a frame of a completely black screen. Seems to be some problem with the damage effect. The second is that the game doesn't support steam deck. Being able to effectively play this on steam deck would make my travel go by in a flash.

When I first tried this game, I bounced off of it hard. I came back to it after a month or two and had a much more enjoyable time. The key difference is that the first time around I was expecting an RPG that incorporated poker into the rules; what you get is an RPG that incorporates a poker *deck* and poker *terms* but has little to do with the game poker itself. In particular, the asymmetry between defensive and offensive hands will really mess with you if you're coming at it from a poker perspective. What you actually get here is a non-poker but rather clever deckbuilder roguelike with pretty solid writing on the narrative front. The technical writing leaves some things to be desired, and the "help" screen raises more questions than it answers. Fortunately, the interface does a good job of papering over these deficiencies, with visual cues and helpful pop-ups. I'm not far into the game at all, and have no idea what the scaling or deep deck-building aspects are like. But I almost gave up on this game without giving it a fair chance, just because my expectations were pretty far off. If you're looking for something to scratch a poker itch, this isn't it, but so far it seems like it will scratch a roguelike itch.

Another excellent title from Triple B. It's weird, it's different, and it's fun to play. Some people were complaining about the difficulty being low, which, if you're used to playing max ascension on other roguelikes, yeah, I get it... But if you're not looking for the next S tier challenge and you just want a neat story with some cool card-based combat, it's an excelllent little title.
