It's the true successor to F-Zero GX that Nintendo refuses to make. F-Zero GX is already a perfect game and yet, somehow, this game arguably does it better in mechanics. Aero GPX is GX without the jank that came with being a gamecube game. I wish this game had a bigger budget. Not to improve the mechanics or add more stages, but to get those wacky cut scenes back into story mode.

Damn. Someone did it. Someone made a racer that feels as good as F-Zero GX. Really looking forward to the full release of this one.

This and XF are the closet zero gravity racing that not even any big gaming company would take that risk. I felt a game is made by another mad-man understands how a game supposed to work. The level of physics and sharp corners for every machine takes an incredible amount of effort - there is no sharp corners when it comes to character and course design. MUSIC LITERALLY SCREAMS FOR ME LIKE "HEY GAMER, YOU LIKE F-ZERO? CHECK THIS ONE OUT!" "Would you choose healing strip or booster strip? OR you want to go faster and burn your machine? Your choice." This game is taking you to a new level of risk.

Let's just say that I'm a very "young" F-Zero fan, I fell in love with the series roughly one year ago, and during this time I completed every game and joined the group of people desperately craving for a new entry. That being said, this game really came at the right time, and I pretty much loved it! It basically feels like an F-Zero game through and through: every core aspect of the series is here (with its own spice), especially regarding the fast-paced gameplay. I'd say the sense of speed is even stronger than most (if not all) F-Zero games: driving across the tracks feels incredibly satisfying (especially in the later cups with more challenging layouts). The controls really make you feel like you're getting better, which is why they can feel a bit "heavy" at first, but it sure is for the best. At its hardest, this game is almost as tough as GX's story mode, but I found the learning curve to be a bit smoother here. Of course, being in Early Access, it has some minor flaws, and I think the main one has something to do with the boost, which feels strangely unresponsive compared to the rest of the controls. My guess is that it's probably some cooldown/buffering system which blocks/delays your boost when it's not available, which is fair, but makes it feel kinda awkward in some cases, I don't know, it's just not as instant as you'd expect it to be. Aside from that, there are some other very small occasional issues such as tutorial text not disappearing or some audio clips from the starting countdown not playing, but I'm sure they'll be fine in the 1.0 version. I also hope older content will get a tiny visual revamp since some tracks are a bit empty, but that didn't hurt my enjoyment of the art direction, which I love! The artstyle and UI are very nice and the characters are super duper cool, can't wait to see more of them! Also huge props to Myrone for the incredible soundtrack! (Drill Diving, SFICSTH and Floating are my favorite tunes so far <3). And that's all! Really loving this project so far and I'm hyped to play the full release! As a new F-Zero fan, thanks for making the wait for a new title much less painful. 💚
