i liked Jack🩷, he's cute, handsome and big. His voice too. the game is mostly shooting, but i was okay with that, the stages of the campaign are mostly short but it felt like the right length. there some bugs, like elevator stopping rather then going all the way through up, also sometimes when enemies are killed with explosives, the mission objectives don't advance, for both i just had to restart from last checkpoint. usually shooters aren't really my thing, but i liked the game.

Pretty good, just don't play on brutal for your first play through, that was just plain unfair and unbalanced

its good and the game does look pretty and has a overall cool kinda over the top aesthetic to it but has a very frustrating difficulty with the way rockets just hit through walls all the time and how it spawns enemies behind the player and the amount of damage enemies take and deal is definitely a bit much. Overall though the game is decent and has a real neat look to it. Also the story is fine. most sections don't take too many attempts but its definitely near the edge of what I will tolerate even on the normal difficulty.

Alien Rage had a ton of potential, but that potential was let down by two major issues... #1 It simply doesn't know what it wants to be. On one hand, its made to play like a guns blazing boomer shooter, however, your characters health is too low to be able to survive the kind of punishment that a boomer shooter character requires. This is a health regen game, so you cant bum rush the enemies guns blazing without dying instantly. The only other alternative is to hang back behind cover and do the whole whack -a- mole modern military style of play while your health regens, and the core of the games design was not made for that either. Due to this, the game feels incredibly "OFF". It's a big mish mash of wanting to be a boomer shooter with the limitations of cover shooter mechanics at the same time, and it just doesn't work very well. #2 Hit-scan enemies. The enemies in this game WILL shoot you at all times no matter what. Enemy explosives will damage you even though your behind cover etc. This causes another issue with the run and gun style of play that this game wants to be. You cant have nothing but crazy hit-scan enemies in a game that wants to promote running and gunning. A run and gun shooter needs to allow the player to strafe and dodge incoming attacks. You cannot do that in this game. They WILL hit you every single time. It just doesn't know what kind of shooter it wants to be and because of that it ends up being neither run and gun nor cover based. I had fun with it, but that's only because I took it for what it was. If the game had a clearer direction on what it wanted to be mechanics wise, it could have been very successful. The bottom line is that not every game that is recently released has to be the new genre defining norm. If you look at the game for what it is and what its trying to be (Killzone 2/Gears of War knock off), instead of a $200 million super polished AAA game, you should be satisfied if bought on a sale.
