Eu sempre vou recomendar esse jogo. Ele tá na lista de jogos preferidos meus e que fez parte da minha infância. Lembro que quando joguei ele quando era criança, eu morria de medo! Mesmo assim, joguei até o fim. Hoje em dia, não tenho tanto medo, mas reconheço que os jumpscares (sustos) desse jogo são muito bons kkkkkk É sempre um monstro surgindo do nada, um trovão, alguma coisa doida caótica.... Mesmo se você estiver jogando esse jogo pela segunda vez, sei lá, você vai tomar susto com alguma coisa. Esse jogo é meio estranho porque tecnicamente ele não é 100% um reboot do Alone in the Dark de 1992, que se passa na década de 1920. Esse jogo se passa em 2001, e tem foco na família Morton, em vez da família De Certo. A única coisa em comum com o primeiro jogo é que o personagem Edward Carnby tem o mesmo nome do principal e também é detetive. Bom, dá pra forçar a barra e pensar que esse Edward é um neto ou bisneto do Edward do primeiro jogo, sabe? Mas isso é só minha imaginação. Eu disse isso porque eu gosto tanto, tanto desse jogo, que me chateia pensar que essa história seria desperdiçada só porque foi um quase-reboot, e agora o Alone in the Dark 1 teve um remake. Ao mesmo tempo ele tem capacidade de existir na mesma realidade dos outros jogos porque os outros acontecem muito no passado, sabe? E não é sobre a família Morton. O jogo fala sobre Edward Carnby (detetive) e Aline Cedrac (antropologista etnóloga). Os dois vão para a ilha das Sombras por motivos diferentes. Aline quer conversar com Obed Morton porque ela acredita que ele pode ser o pai dela, e dizer alguma pista sobre o paradeiro da mãe dela que sumiu anos atrás. Edward quer ir procurar um amigo detetive também que foi pra ilha e ficou desaparecido desde então. O avião sofre um problema, e Aline e Edward pulam de paraquedas. Aline cai no telhado da mansão Morton, e Edward cai nas dependências (uma mistura de jardim e florestazinha da ilha). Uma coisa que não pude deixar de notar é que o outro personagem que você for jogar sempre vai ser muito chato! Se você jogar com o Edward, Aline sempre fará comentários chatos e mimados no walkie talkie. Se você jogar com a Aline, Edward vai agir igual um cavalo e dar coices verbais na Aline por motivo nenhum. Se você estiver perdido(a), você pode ligar pro amigo no walkie talkie para receber alguma dica do que fazer. Pode ser que, no começo, você fique um pouco sem saber o que fazer porque algumas dicas não estão exatamente sincronizadas com o cenário, ou a descrição pode ser meio rasa. Alguns itens nesse jogo só são pegos pelo Edward, e outros pela Aline. Eu arrisco dizer aqui que a campanha da Aline é levemente mais difícil que a do Edward. Além de ela começar o jogo sem uma arma, muito depois no jogo, o jogo te apresenta um boss que fica te perseguindo de um jeito meio Nemesis, meio aquele vilão de 4 no Rule of Roses, meio bicho MOB do Silent Hill 1. Aliás, falando em outros jogos de survival horror, foi bem notável para mim como esse jogo se inspirou em Resident Evil. Edward e Aline me lembravam o Leon e a Claire às vezes. A campanha da Aline com aquele boss que seguia ela me lembrou um pouco o Nemesis e elementos do Code Veronica. E o final? AHAHAHA Termina em helicóptero! Algo que gostei muito no lore é como eles pensaram bastante no background story da família Morton, e como também eles conhecerem alguém da família De Certo (acho que era o Judas). Basicamente, a família Morton ficou obcecada com a extinta tribo Abkanis e como eles tiveram contato com as criaturas das sombras. Edenshaw é o último indígena dessa tribo, e por alguma razão era muito amigo de Jeremy Morton (avô de Obed e Allan), morou junto na mansão Morton por vários anos. Obed e Alan estavam igual doidos fazendo coisa pra abrir o portão da ilha da sombras e tals. Algo importante que preciso comentar aqui é sobre problemas de otimização e perfomance nesse jogo. Para evitar stress, recomendo que vocês baixem um programa que force os frames do jogo a rodarem num número específico, tá? Os FPS do jogo vão de 30 a 100! Ainda mais quando você abre o mapa, e isso não faz sentido nenhum. Daí quando você tenta fechar o mapa, o jogo fecha e abre muito muito rápido! Daí você tem que ou apertar o botão de mapa muito rápido ou apertar o botão de falar no rádio pra fechar o mapa... Quando você pega um item , ele gira naturalmente. Mas com o problema do FPS alto, o item roda muiiito. Bom, pra evitar stress com mapa e outras partes do jogo, é só forçar o jogo a rodar em 30 fps com um programa específico e pronto. Problema resolvido. Outro problema que existe e ficou sem solução por não ser tão importante é que a campanha da Aline teve itens que não davam para ser coletados do chão. Sim, bem frustrante. Deixei de pegar um medkit e um cordão de save game por causa de bug. Ah, esse jogo tem problemas nas físicas das paredes, tá? Se você esbarrar demais em algumas paredes, seu personagem vai ultrapassar e parede e depois ter dificuldade de voltar kkkkkkkk Daí você fica la andando atrás da parede, atrás do limite de alguma coisa, e tentando loucamente voltar pro lugar que estava. Às vezes você consegue, mas às vezes você não tem opção a não ser voltar o save mesmo. Uma dica para você não passar raiva no final da campanha da Aline: você não vai conseguir matar o boss final de jeito nenhum. Se você tentar fazer isso, vai gastar todas as suas munições e ficar preso num loop. Você só precisa fazer o boss se afastar pro início da "ponte". Quando ele fizer isso, pise na ponte e corra até o fim para não dar tempo de ele avançar muito. Atire nele para fazer ele dar passos para trás, aí você avança mais ainda e vira pra esquerda pra sair daquela pontezinha. Só isso que você precisa fazer. E esse boss final da Aline também me lembrou um pouquinho o William Birkin infectado, do Resident Evil 2.

It was fun. It starts slowly, then it starts developing. It is not a masterpiece, story is lame, sound is not good, soundtrack not memorable. But it is one of the originals oldies, and I liked it. I recommend it only for RE and similar games hardcore players.

The original game is a classic, although the PC version is definitely rough. Setting up the controller is a huge pain, there isn't a proper borderless fullscreen setting, just a handful of other little annoyances like that. CRUCIALLY: you must, and I mean must , go into your NVIDIA settings (or equivalent for your system) and limit this game's framerate to ~58 (anything close to but less than 60). This is an old game, and absolutely no safeguards have been set in place for higher framerates on newer hardware. I, like an idiot, played through this entire game at around 120fps without having any idea, and it was a nightmare . My playthrough was plagued by bugs, softlocks, crashes after every pre-rendered cutscene, weird input drops, borked menus, and huge problems interacting with doors, ladders, and pick-ups. It's a shame, because it really colored my time with the game. I went back and limited the FPS to 58, tested it for an hour, and all those issues just...completely disappeared. So with that in mind, with the caveat that you must limit your FPS to sub-60 , I heartily recommend this game to fans of quirky, campy old-school survival horror games. It's got all the campy dialogue with fun-bad delivery, tank-controls, frustrating combat, circuitous puzzle logic, and fixed camera angles that you're looking for.

i remeber playing this game back in 2001 on a Pentium .Ws 18 or 19 at the time .After playing the 2024 remake of the original 1992 Alone in the Dark .I recalled playing this game more then 20 years ago .And it had an interesting Lovercraftian premise .Which i didnt know about at the time .This brought back alot of memories about playing this game . Wanted to try playing this game again after 24 years . I have to say this game deserves a remake .
