Ancestors Legacy is a great real-time strategy game that really stands out. I’m not sure how historically accurate the storylines are, but each faction’s campaign is well-written, fun, and engaging. The missions are cleverly designed, gradually revealing different parts of the map as you progress through objectives adds a strong narrative flow to each level. The gameplay mechanics are also a highlight. Stealth and ambush tactics actually make a difference, and environmental modifiers like weather and fog of war add meaningful variation and depth to combat. I haven't encountered any bugs that disrupted my experience, which is always a big plus. One mechanic I especially liked is how units lock into combat. It punishes poor macro-management in a way that feels fair and encourages more strategic thinking, something that sets it apart from other RTS games like Age of Empires. While I’d love to give it a perfect score, I believe there’s always room for improvement in any game. So for me, Ancestors Legacy earns a solid 9/10. It's a must-play for any RTS fan.

Once you've played with each factions units and full unit tree, the game gets very repetitive very fast. However, the campaign is fun, so you'll get 25 hours out of that. Skirmishes are where this game fades, ironically. RTS usually shine in skirmish mode. 5/10

Simple resource management blended into combat which is the main focus. The RTS formula I always advocate. Props to devs for paying a lot of attention to little details animations-wise. I know a certain AAA franchise that has been around for 20+ years and still have the soldiers romantically make eyes with each other during an engagement. One negative thing I could point out is that it's just sad that the voice acting is so terrible while the soundtrack is pretty dope. Then again, it always seems to be an afterthought for RTS devs as very few of them got it right.
