You get what you pay for. It has some bugs, but none are game-breaking, and it clearly draws inspiration from Silent Hill 1–4, along with a Resident Evil–style inventory and herb combining system. Unfortunately the game hands out far too many healing items, the jumpscares are frequent but rarely effective, and the combat is laughably bad, enemies can be two-tapped with melee, and boss fights are underwhelming due to how easily they get stuck or stun-locked, letting you spam bullets. The story is lackluster and failed to hold my interest, though it’s worth mentioning this is a short, one-to-two-hour experience made by a single dev. The aesthetics and graphics are nice, and the points shop is decent, which initially drew me in thanks to its substantial similarities to Silent Hill. Overall, the game isn’t terrible, but it’s not great either. If you want something to pass the time or an easy achievement-hunting game, the game is worth picking up on discount. :)

Its ok, a lot of jump scares. Audio is pretty cool. Zero direction and some areas are unecessarrily hard to figure out. But I'll play it again sometime..

Finding a good solo-developed game is rare, with Stardew Valley being exceptions. Most of the one-person-developed games I have played so far are just garbage, and I expected Apartament 1406: Horror to be the same. Surprisingly, it turned out to be okay. The game is short, with rough graphics, clunky animations, and a poor UI, but it was still fun. For a small project like this, that’s enough for me to give it a positive review.
