This was a pretty decent game, I liked the graphics, very beautiful looking game and was one of the scariest games I played. back in 2023. The idea it went from going to my very cheap apartment in the slums, to very quickly got very scary haha. This game did keep me on the edge the entire time and the jumpscares really got me haha. One of my new favorite horror walking sims. I bought this because I first read about the history of Kowloon Walled City around 10 years ago and saw the excellent photographs by Greg Girard. Ever since, it's stuck in my mind as a fascinating/horrifying nugget of human existence that looks more like a slice out of some cyberpunk dystopia than anything real. But it WAS real. This game captures the essence of all of the media that exists of the now-demolished city and is gorgeous to look at. It uses the new "bodycam" style of graphics people are going for lately with a fish-eye lens and a cursor that doesn't quite move the camera on a 1:1 basis, meaning you can move a flashlight around without turning the camera. It's tough to explain if you haven't played something using it but I really dig it, it brings a level of immersion to things that's hard to describe. Anyway, it's a short creepy walking sim with plenty of jump scares and an amazing atmosphere. You will absolutely know if you want to play this just by looking at the videos, but if you're at all interested in Kowloon Walled City I would almost call it a must-play. Look out Mr. Pumpkin 2, this is the new best game set in Kowloon Walled City. (Oh yeah, if you want more Kowloon Walled action, check out Mr. Pumpkin 2 on Steam).
A very good, atmospheric horror game! The game constantly keeps you on edge, and it can be quite scary. It was strange running through those narrow corridors; I still couldn't figure out what the reference was. If I had to rate it out of 10, I'd give it a solid seven. The only problem is, where should I have entered the code 5913? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3772162875 For anyone new to this genre, I highly recommend this short horror game!
This short horror escape game isn't bad. It looks really good, although the FOV feels very narrow to me and there's a slight fish eye lens view. I think the atmosphere is really tense, given there's little in the way of music and some muffled talking behind closed doors was quite realistic. Everything else is just the usual trope of finding keys/items to continue with a few jump scares thrown in, however it's done really well. Good way to kill 45 minutes if on sale.
