Most games try to give you power fantasies. Adios gives you a masterclass in powerlessness. Shoveling manure and milking goats alongside the man who might have to kill you by sunset creates an atmosphere so thick you could cut it with a knife. The writing understands that what isn't said matters just as much as what is. It's short, unpolished in places, but emotionally flawless. Really really good.

Some of the best writing and voice acting I've ever experienced in a game. It lands no matter who you are - but if you have family from a small town out in the boonies, it hits especially hard. No tricks, no fakeouts, just a story.

I got this on sale for $10. It is absolutely worth the experience for $10 I said the experience. This is not really 'a game'. This is a railroaded linear experience visual novel that makes you do certain very easy things to progress/facilitate the story. It is very short. It is well voice acted. The story is good but it's good in a youtube shorts kind of way. Without spoiling anything, you're put into a very compelling story with much assumed having gone on and referred to. So that to me was an interesting experience, and one I enjoyed and was worth the $10

Wow. Short but one of the best stories in any game I've ever played. So much tension building through a series of otherwise mundane events. The voice acting really sells it, too, and the environment, the pacing... small details like the dialogue options you can't pick. Things you wish you could have said. I need to go think on this for a while

This game is what adapting literary short-stories to videogames should be, many other videogames that are based in telling a story commit the sin of letting you with the controller at hand waiting in case you have to push a button, which can be very boring if their writing goes from mediocre to bad. Adios have first, very good writing, and second you are the character of a short story, you are not the guy waiting for the exposition to finish so you can push another button. This is a very good short-story, and this is the correct way of making a videogame to have the same function as a short-story. I'll be looking for more pieces from the author. 8/10, not ten just becuase this is very new, and I don't mean the genre, but making a good short-story-literary-videogame. 1-2 hours, totally recoomended. It should be more games like this.
