This is definitely a game with more INPUT than there has been in a long time, an absolutely TOP GAME. Not a single mistake so far, the BALANCE is excellent!!! A really great game!!!! But BEWARE: For all those who don't have patience: - not a game for you, - it's very demanding, - and you have to think carefully about where you invest - and adjust the prices every day !!!! There's a lot of work waiting for you at the beginning !!! Once you have employees it gets easier, but even then you have to help out everywhere - you can't sleep ;) Thanks to the developers !!! You have delivered a perfect game - wonderful !!! ❤️❤️❤️ Das ist definitiv ein Game mit soviel INPUT wie schon lange nicht mehr, absolutes TOP GAME. Bis jetzt kein einziger Fehler, die BALANCE ist hervorragend !!! Ein wirklich gelungenes Game !!!! Aber ACHTUNG: An alle die keine Geduld haben das ist kein Spiel für euch, es ist sehr herausfordernd und man muss gut überlegen wo man investiert, und die Preise jeden Tag anpassen !!! Im Grunde ist sehr viel zu tun am Anfang !!! Wenn man dann mal Angestellte hat wird es leichter, aber auch da müsst ihr überall anpacken - schlafen ist nicht drin ;)

Arctic Motel Simulator is an excellent time-killer. It's one of those games you play when you really just want to zone out and relax and it's easy for the hours to pass you by. It is quite grindy and there are limited options right now, but it ate up my time in a satisfactory way, letting me let go of my real-life worries. Currently it's hard to really customize your rooms in a unique way, and there's no real benefit to doing so. With a lot more customization options the game will improve, but even so, as it is there's more than enough to do to keep you busy. The beginning of the game is quite slow, it can take a good few hours to get going and start getting employees. Profits trickle in and I ended up in the red quite a few days, but now I'm over 20 hours in and the money just rolls in by itself, I have employees doing every task and I can just build or hunt or fish or do whatever I fancy, other than keeping on top of inventory management. It's generally intuitive and easy to see what you need to do for upgrades and levels. I'd love to be able to build more amenities and actually decorate public areas (like adding a proper sit down restaurant or a recreation room, outdoor decorations, perhaps hot tubs, a sauna, some more winter sports activities like skiing), as well as having a lot more items to decorate the rooms with - and have the items you choose actually impact things. At the moment it's more of an arctic-grinding simulator which worked fine for me. It is definitely a slow-paced relaxing game, so don't come looking for action, and there's not really a massive amount in the way of tycoon management or strategy either. It's just grind, build, upgrade, inventory management, complete tasks, back to the grind, watch it grow. Overall it's been good value for money. It gets a thumbs up from me as it currently is, but looking forward to seeing more updates.

Made a negative review about the game being disorienting because there was no FOV slider and the dev said it makes the snow look a glitchy in a steam discussion thread so assumed that was the end of the matter. Wake up the next day to see a dev response that they added an FOV slider. Comes with a warning about the snow but who cares, absolute legend to positively respond to feed back like that and I wish them the best. 10/10

I'm very split on my recommendation, but ultimately the positives outweigh the negatives for me (so far). At first glance, this seems like just another Something Simulator game thrown together with store-bought assets. You'll probably have seen many of the models and/or textures before in similar games, and some of them look really out of place (in particular the choices for staff you can hire are bizarre - goth girl receptionist and construction worker janitor being two of the more "normal" options) Playing the game initially isn't much better - you're picking up rubbish and placing furniture via a radial menu, like house flipper with worse controls and less choices. Decorating rooms is particularly rough, as you scroll through around 20 different wallpaper textures of which only about 4 look even halfway decent - why are there two different red brick textures, and why are they both tiny? Slowly, however, additional events, activities and challenges open up. You add a small store to the motel and guests start asking for room service. Winter sets in and you need to keep the heating fired. You get a phone call from a woman asking if her husband checked in with another woman. The police tell you about a wanted criminal and ask you to call if he checks in. You set up hunting and fishing facilities (and can take part in them yourself). As well as being surprised by the variety in the game, I'm also impressed with how stable it is. Games like this are notorious for being buggy, particularly at launch, but I've not had a single issue so far in ~6 hours. It's not all positive - the UI is clunky, particularly for moving items and decorating, and the pace at the start is both a hectic experience in terms of time management (because you're having to be janitor, receptionist and cashier while also completing side tasks until you unlock staff) and painfully slow in terms of progression (because features are locked behind quests that often require a lot of money or materials). Finally, I feel the need to warn that there is some questionable content in the form of 'secret agent' employees who guests will hire for 'services' - for some reason the guests specify the gender of the agent they want, and the agent just goes into their room for half an hour before walking out with about $100... oh, and the agents all wear revealing clothing and have an 'attractiveness' rating... - so maybe don't buy this for your kids or stream it on your family-friendly twitch channel. Engaging with this system is optional, but I managed to stumble into it accidentally and the euphemistic name doesn't really make it obvious what's going on until you've already accepted your first agent. But if you can overlook the out-of-place assets, occasionally awkward controls and uneven progression (and you're not put off by the option to be a pimp in an otherwise fairly wholesome game), there's a lot to enjoy here.

This dude said why is there only a hotel OR farming OR store OR cleaning sim.....then made a game and threw it all in it....addictive as heck and great gameplay loop. If you like these types of sim games it's a no brainer!
