I was so happy they remastered this game. I haven’t had any problems running it. I’ve seen others complain about the gameplay / mechanics of the game and I disagree. I feel like these people didn’t play the game when it originally came out. Yes it’s annoying there aren’t any weekends, but you can take your Sims out on vacation or to community lots. You can have your Sims spend days on community lots; these Sims aren’t bothered by lack of hygiene like in newer games (they don’t get embarrassed); they don’t faint in public! The weird mechanics add character to the experience. If you played the original when it came out, you’ll have a good time for sure. If you’ve never played any version of The Sims (1) - whether on PC and/or console - don’t play this expecting anything like 2/3/4. This version of The Sims is like a prehistoric ancestor to the succeeding versions. And playing with the expectation of gameplay being exactly the same does a disservice to what this game is at its core. It’s old and silly and so much fun to have a little bit of a challenge to manage your households. I love all versions of The Sims but I very much enjoy the charm of The Sims (1) and find myself replaying the PC version and the console versions all the time.

I'm an older aged video game player. Fell in love with the original Sims a long time ago. Love being able to design and decorate houses. My granddaughter tuned me onto Steam where I was able to purchase the 25 year Anniversary edition and have it on my computer. Thank you for making it available. I could play forever!

You leave the game running for two minutes and come back to find everybody either dead, dying, fired from their job or being chased by a depressed clown as their house is burning down. Or you can just stay in the main menu and listen to top-tier Muzak.
