I went into Arms Trade Tycoon really wanting to like it. On the surface, it checks a lot of boxes: production chains, research trees, contracts, and the satisfaction of scaling a business from nothing into a global supplier. As a tycoon game, it mostly works. Where it starts to fall apart is immersion — especially around weapon testing and presentation. One of the biggest issues for me is the weapon sound design during test firing. Many of the firearms just don’t sound right. Rifles, pistols, and automatic weapons often share very similar audio, and some of them sound exaggerated or oddly muted compared to what you’d expect from the weapons they’re supposed to represent. If you have even a basic familiarity with firearms, the lack of distinction between calibers and weapon classes is pretty noticeable. In a game that revolves entirely around weapons, that’s a letdown. The test-driving/testing system itself also feels shallow. You run tests, get numbers, but the feedback is vague and doesn’t really feel connected to what you just “tested.” Sometimes it’s unclear whether a poor result comes from your design choices or just how the system works behind the scenes. On top of that, testing quickly becomes repetitive, with the same animations and UI regardless of weapon type, which breaks immersion even more. These issues aren’t unique to my experience either — a lot of other players have pointed out similar problems. Common complaints I’ve seen (and experienced myself) include: Performance drops and stuttering in larger factories Occasional bugs or crashes when managing contracts or production Balance problems where certain weapon designs dominate with little reason to experiment UI that works but feels dated and repetitive A lack of deeper historical or geopolitical context, despite the theme That said, the game isn’t all bad. The core economic loop is enjoyable, especially early on. Expanding production, optimizing workflows, and chasing better contracts is genuinely satisfying. There’s also a decent foundation here, and with better sound design, deeper testing mechanics, and more polish, this could be a much stronger experience. Final Thoughts: Arms Trade Tycoon is a decent tycoon game held back by immersion issues and missed opportunities. If you’re here purely for the business simulation side, you’ll probably get your money’s worth. If you’re expecting realistic weapon presentation or meaningful test feedback, you may walk away disappointed. *Recommended with reservations.*

Fun game however wish there was more light tanks and stuff. making SPG and SPAA would also be really cool, additionaly being able to play as more countries than just Britain would be legendary. so my review great game, could use more light tanks and more countries.

While I, (for the most part), enjoyed this game, it has it's downsides. This game has a LOT of potential, and I'm hoping as the devs continue expanding the length of the game that they take a little time to iron out some of the aggravations. One of the biggest annoyances in this game is the mass/volume limits of the tanks. You spend a lot of time designing a tank, and when you submit it you get told it's over the mass limit, (it's too heavy). So you spend a bunch of time redesigning the tank, putting in lighter parts, only to be told when you submit the tank that you are over the volume limit, (the lighter parts take up more room inside the tank). I never was able to successfully design a tank. I was able to use the espionage twice to steal competitors designs, that I was then able to submit as my own. That got me all the way through. It was annoying when I stole the design for the T-34, but even submitting that exact design as my own, I was over both the mass and volume limits. I wasted $5 million stealing a design the game wouldn't let me use, (though my competitors could use that design to outbid me). It was aggravating when I had successfully researched EVERY tech available, and I still couldn't get a heavy tank design to be submitted. I went back and forth, mass limit exceeded, then volume limit exceeded, then back to mass limit. I tried editing one frame, then the next. I combined one turret to this frame, then that frame. I edited one turret shaving off a couple hundred pounds, but that then put me over the volume limit, back and forth. It was aggravating. The fact that you have no idea where you at in the mass/volume limit calculations until you submit it is something that needs to be addressed. There needs to be some display that shows you where you are at as you are adding/editing parts. Too much time is spent engineering a component to shave off a little weight, then getting all the way through the design process and finding you are now short on space. I did enjoy the game, right up until the end when I had researched all the techs and still couldn't design a tank. Like I said, the game has potential, it just needs some UI interface work to make it easier to understand the trade offs you are making.

This game is hard, but once you master it, it is easy. I know insightful uhhh 7/10 buy sprocket instead or buy both preferably buy both unless you prefer the campaign aspect of this game But just know your level of designing tanks is limited and you cant really design a tank outside of the box (and make money).

I don't really write reviews. However I just wanted the Devs to know they are doing an amazing job. Is this game hard? - Yes Does it have a steep learning curve? - Yes Can it be Very frustrating at times? - YES! Have I told all my friends, my girlfriend and my dog about how much i'm enjoying this game so far?! YES However! The is nothing quite like this out there, for an early access it has so much potential. It did take me a good two days of youtube tutorials to get my head around some of the nitty gritty details, but its so worth it! I can't wait to see what happens in the future with this game. I'm a huge tank nerd, having spent my latest holiday in the Tank museum in Bovington. So being able to mix and match all tanks from different nations to make some sort of hybrid is such a great feature along with the management and time factor can really catch you off guard at times! For anyone who has given this a bad review, I agree its not perfect, it is early access after all. But give it your time and learn the mechanics and its such a time sync you'll not regret
