Good - A well-crafted narrative game that stands out among its peers. The branching storylines provide exceptional replay value, allowing players to experience multiple engaging pathways. While the game excels in its core storytelling, the final act shows noticeable signs of rushed development, with some unresolved plot threads and a slightly disjointed conclusion that doesn't quite match the quality of the earlier sections.

Interactive Tension or a Cinematic Slideshow? If Heavy Rain and Life is Strange had a crime-thriller baby, As Dusk Falls would be the result. This narrative-driven game combines interactive drama with tough moral choices and a cinematic storytelling approach. But does it deliver an unforgettable experience, or does it feel like watching a slideshow with occasional button presses? Story A motel, a hostage situation, two families – and every decision can change the course of events. 🔹 Two timelines, one connected past – The story jumps between 1998 and 2012, showing how choices have lasting consequences. 🔹 Dramatic twists – Every choice can cost lives, ruin relationships, or lead to unexpected fates. 🔹 Realism over exaggeration – No sci-fi, no action heroes, just real people with flaws and struggles. Whether you rise as a hero, fall as a victim, or simply get caught in the chaos – that’s up to you. Strengths and Weaknesses ✔️ Engaging story with real consequences – Every decision matters and feels meaningful. ✔️ Surprisingly deep characters – Even the "villains" have layers and motivations. ✔️ Co-op mode for shared decisions – Perfect for testing friendships. 😆 ✔️ Real-world themes – Family issues, trauma, crime – handled with maturity. ❌ Art style is divisive – The motionless comic book visuals take some getting used to. ❌ Minimal actual gameplay – If you dislike interactive films, this won’t change your mind. ❌ Some choices are just illusions – Not every decision truly reshapes the outcome. Recommended / Not Recommended For ✔️ Fans of interactive dramas like Heavy Rain or Life is Strange . ✔️ Players who love deep storytelling and strong characters. ✔️ Perfect for groups or couples wanting to make choices together. ❌ If you want actual gameplay, look elsewhere. ❌ Not for fans of fast-paced action or reflex-based challenges. ❌ If you don’t want to be emotionally invested, stay away. Achievements Achievements are mostly tied to different choices, meaning multiple playthroughs are required to get them all. Some can only be unlocked by making the “wrong” decisions – perfectionists will suffer. 😅 My Opinion As Dusk Falls isn’t for everyone, but if you love a gripping, character-driven drama , this game delivers. It’s more of an interactive film than a traditional game, but the emotional choices and narrative twists keep you hooked. Scientific estimation: My playtime was interrupted by heated debates over which decision to pick. As a huge fan of choice-based games, I was absolutely immersed in the story of As Dusk Falls. The narrative pulled me in from the start, and I found myself hooked until the very end. The storytelling is beautifully done, with every decision feeling weighty and impactful. Honestly, I was so engrossed that I was surprised I didn’t leave a review sooner after finishing the game. The emotional depth and tension in the story make it an unforgettable experience, and now, with a little luck and a RAM upgrade/fix, I might just dive back in for another playthrough. If you’re a fan of interactive narratives where your choices truly matter, As Dusk Falls is a must-play. Don’t miss it.

Who needs AAA graphics when you have talented team As dusk Falls is a purely story driven game focused on choices and characters which delivers great experience. The game grabs you from the first minute and never lets go. Yes the story is that interesting and thrilling. Although there's no gameplay basically, it's more similar to a visual novel but when it comes to the structure of the game it's similar to Detroit Become Human even though it doesn't come even close to it, but hey developers tried and with lesser budget they achieved a lot. You play from a perspectives of multiple characters and make important choices, some are moral choices, some may be about survival but every choice leads to different outcome and you don't know what it is straight away. The game is perfectly structured and barely lets you breath. Sounds weird eh? Having in mind you can't even control anything except choices it somehow creates that tension. Great achievement. After each chapter you'll be presented with the outcomes in a very siilar way Detroit Become Human does. Of course the outcomes affect the story less and there are less of them in general but it's still great and I wish to see more game like this. Although not everything is great. The game supposed to be episodic? And while it wraps the story pretty well, it ends with a cliffhanger. It's hard to explain without spoilers. But there are like two stories and the first one – main story of this episode ends, the overall story just begins at the end and leaves you hanging. Graphically the game looks stunning. Even though it's only still images, the artstyle is outstanding and translates the character emotions so well that you don't even care it's just a still image. The emotional impact is on par with fully animated games or even better at times. Sound design also is great, voice acting is believable and it matters a lot in such games because you don't have animations. Basically every character, every dialogue and monologue is voiced very well. Not much to talk about performance since the game is 2D so it should run on a potato. Overall an excellent narrative game based on choices which impact the story but ends with a cliffhanger which is annoying. Definitely recommended. Pros [*]Great story [*]Amazing visual design [*]Excellent voice acting and sound design [*]Good character design and development [*]Choices matter Cons [*]Cliffhanger ending [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32930811-Kosmos%27s-Cosmic-reviews/?appid=704030] Follow my curator page for more [url=https://www.twitch.tv/crazykosmikbunny] My Twitch

This is one of the best games in this genre that will keep you playing and playing to see how the story unfolds . It has also high repeatability and you will need to play the game at least 2-3 times to see how your choices will affect the story . Let's hope for a sequel or in the future.
