Added on Dec 22nd: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, they fixed the controller bug! We're so BACK. On serious note: if you are a newbie go play it, amazing trilogy. Old "review": If your game stutters every 3 seconds, connect any controller to PC. The same bug was in the original game version. Are you serious, devs? Thumbs up because I wanted a reason to play the trilogy again.

It's technically a better version of the same game, but it's hard to tell that while playing it. It really doesn't feel any different, and the first game was already *great*. They've fixed the performance problems that other reviews mention, so that's no longer a reason to downvote the game. If you already have the original and didn't think it was great, this probably isn't for you. But if you did, and you wanted to play it again, this would be the way to do it. As long as you can part with the money easily.

The loading issues were the only major issues; thankfully it's been fixed today. What's left is really up to preference. All dlc is included however, the lighting changed to be brighter. While I personally prefer the new lighting, some disagree and it's alright. The game itself is utterly charming, with really intricate systems to keep you occupied and a just serious enough story to keep the player engaged. Easily a 9/10; if you don't have the original, the dx version is a no brainer however, unnecessary if you have the original (meaning, wait for a sale). Some nice additionnal content, including 2 story important characters so there is still some added values if you're a big fan who already owns the original

Really enjoying the very happy atmosphere of the early game (have not finished yet). The fighting style being ATB and not Turn Based is very refreshing after playing Atelier Sophie 1 and 2, which makes it feel like a completely seperate experience. Game is running amazing for me and have no issues with long loading screens as other reviews state. Important note to that tho: Am running the game on Linux with Proton 9.0-4 so that could be the reason for not having long loading screens.

If you have long load times, don't use the in game FPS limiter or Vsync. Also TellowKrinkle/atelier-sync-fix seems to improve CPU/GPU utilization. Once you adjust these two things, the game runs perfectly fine. These fixes shouldn't be necessary, but there's no way in hell this game deserves to be so negatively rated when every recent release runs worse, and doesn't even have workarounds to resolve their issues.
