I went in expecting a chill little puzzle game with a cute bunny and got my brain folded in half instead. The genius of it is how clean the rules are: nothing is vague or trial-and-error, you push words around to rewrite what 'wins' or what 'you' even are, yet the solutions still feel impossible until they suddenly click. I lost hours to single levels, felt like an absolute idiot the whole time, and kept coming back because that one 'oh my god' moment is worth every bit of the suffering. If you want cozy, run away, but if you want to be humbled and actually get smarter, this is the best puzzle game I've touched.
Genuinely the most sick and twisted game I have ever played. An evil, evil game that only wishes to torture and humiliate you. I still wake up shivering thinking about the solutions to some of those puzzles. You never feel smart for beating a level. Only pain. Only dread that there is still more to come. And only after you are broken down to your lowest does Baba permit you to continue. "Baba" is the devil. Baba is the most evil, vile creature I've ever seen. A devil wearing the skin of innocence that tricks you into thinking you have control. It taunts you that you can win at anytime, knowing full well you can't without going deeper into its Hell. Baba is the manifestation of your struggles. Baba is always watching. Baba is always in control. Baba Is You.
