HOLD UP! before you buy: DO NOT get in over your head if you play solo. this is a chill game, but dont play in the hopes of making every single item on the menu because you will get overwhelmed. with making everything, keeping track of all thats in stock and trying to remove things from the menu when you run out will be a headache. give yourself a limit on tables; you can delete furniture later if its too much. tips are based on efficiency. if you quickly get them their food they tend to tip, as opposed to you making every order then getting it out after. this gets more prevalent when you have more tables! hopefully the ability to assign your employees to (espresso machine) or (baking x item) gets added, but im not the MOST hopeful. for the best expirence just play multiplayer, if it even works for you this game is playable, its comfy, it scratches the sim x bakery x coffeehouse itch

Okay, I dig this game. It's a lot of fun BUT, it needs to calm the heck down. It's a bit too manic panic in the vein of something like "cake mania" where you are having a mad rush constantly, and I bought it because I wanted to chill, decorate, bake, make coffees for people but not at breakneck speed. Even with 3 employees, I am struggling. Several valid gripes here : 1) There needs to be a way to set inventory stock on the number of what has been baked. I don't have time to bake more chocolate hazelnut cupcakes or what have you in the midst of some crazy rush & the customers won't stop ordering something that is enabled on the menu, even after it has run out of stock. Even if you are about to run out of something and you disable it from the menu, they still order it. This causes disappointed customers walking away. 2) In another, very similar and well-liked food simulator game, you can place a numbered receipt on the order tray & hit a check mark on it showing it as complete and then the hired NPC server/employee will pick up the order that is marked as complete & take it to the table that corresponds with the number on the receipt. In this game, the NPCs do not serve the customers in any capacity. It's all on you (if you are playing single player with hired NPC employees). Mostly they just get in your way, which brings me to my 3rd gripe ... 3) Hired NPC employees get hung up on refrigerator doors, get confused mid-path, forget why they exist & bump into random shit, standing there standing into the seemingly infinite ethers, like the fake goons they are. If you are lucky, they will wash a dish, collect table trays/trash, and wash dishes but that is about the extent of their helpfulness. 4) When I am making frosted cupcakes, the siphon has to be filled twice to cover the whole tray of cupcakes but then I am left with a stupidly small, residual amount. Why not just make it so that the siphon delivers the amount used for one full tray of cupcakes & that's it? 5) Item placing needs a grid to snap to, because it is persnickety as heck to sit things down at times, making sure it's highlighted at the perfect rotation and distance. 6) There needs to be a casual option where people don't flip the F out when you don't serve them their caramel latte with a white chocolate cookie within 5 milliseconds. Okay, I am exaggerating a bit, but yeh, there needs to be a perhaps easier and slower setting where customers don't just file in all at once immediately, where it's far more relaxed in case someone wants to play a more sandbox, relaxed style. 7) The ability to purchase a larger cafe/bakery on down the line would be nice. Space is limited. Pathing is atrocious. Aside from all of these annoyances, and a few I failed to mention, I like the game. The mini-map/area, lighting, and bird sounds are very pleasant. It's a very sweet, chill atmosphere, until you hit that open sign. Then it becomes utter chaos. Take your heart medication BEFORE you try to play this.

A game with a lot of potential with a good starting point if you enjoy managing your own bakery and coffee shop. Settings & Extras Settings & extras include; video options, display options, graphics settings, brightness, motion blur (on or off), language settings, audio controls and key bindings. My Gameplay I have put a few hours into this one and despite some earlier crashing issues, which seem for me at least to be sorted out, I am having fun. My bakery has a nice fleshed out kitchen at this point, and my business is growing at a steady pace. Money is a bit of a grind at the start but once you start baking and adding food with the coffee you’ll start to make a profit. In this game you do not have to do any cleaning or fixer-upper stuff at the start like most sims. The bakery is ready to go in terms of structure. There is a tutorial that starts you off and gets you buying the basics with a bit of cash to start. Upgrades are locked behind progression and currently the levels go up to level 12 but you can level beyond that point (you just will not unlock any new items). If you wish to change the appearance of your character you can from the main menu (just got to character). However at this time I do not believe there is a way to name our bakery cafe (not sure there is a name at all actually). Notes on the employee’s. They need tweaks to their pathing and responsiveness. I had two employees waiting tables and all my last few orders were wrong. I ended up firing one and just doing the deliveries to the tables myself. So that part of the game needs work. The Visuals & Audio There is no doubt AI was used in creating this game, and for some that is a reason to pass. For me it depends on how it is used. The cafe itself and the items, such as counters, decor, tablets and chairs are well done. Even the npc’s are pretty good. However they slurp their coffee, the sound effect is pretty realistic, not sure if that is a good thing or not :) The music for the cafe itself is relaxing, the usual mellow tunes you’d find in such an establishment. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3521056050 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3521055955 Things I’d like to see… 🔸 A way to manual save if any future issues with crashes occur (right now you have to save the full day) 🔸 A way to carry more than one thing at a time (please make this one a priority) 🔸 Add snapping to the game but allow it to be toggled on and off for placing furniture and ingredients 🔸 When tables and counters move the objects on them also move (object snapping) 🔸 More decor items like rugs, paintings, music options (radio would be nice) and window coverings. 🔸 Pathing of the employees needs work (and serving) 🔸 Why does one patch of cookies only make 5 cookies?!! They should make a dozen or 6 larger ones Overall Experience Overall I put in a decent amount of hours for a game in early access and had a good time. There are some quality of life features I desire for sure and more decor items but for a start I found it pretty enjoyable (once the crashes were fixed…as of the posting of this review, for me, they are fixed. I played a few hours today with no problems). ☕ [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32732116-IndieGems/] Follow IndieGems for more reviews like this one.
