It's got great bones. Keen to see where it goes and what features will be added in the future. Hoping that the game makes some money so the devs can replace the AI content with content from real artists and voice actors though. EDIT: As of April 13th the AI radio/intro voice has been replaced with a human!

BRING MORE CONTENT! Have been in love with the game, and after replaying the levels a few times, I have reached all there is to the game. I would love the ability to haul more gear into levels with me since the starter truck is just not sufficient enough currently to handle what I'd idealistically bring once I've completed the levels and now going for best times. Otherwise, fantastic sim. I could drain tens more hours into the game ;) Edit: New Vehicles have been added! Absolutely brilliant! Replay rewards give some re-playability, quite the grind to get the biggest vehicle. Also, just learned this is being developed by a single dev! Kudos to him!

Great Post10 simulator, amazing water physics

I have spent months scrolling TikTok watching guys unclog drains, and now here I am, completely addicted to doing it virtually. My personal growth is truly fascinating. Jokes aside, the leap to 3D in DrainSim is absolutely incredible. Watching the water drain away so realistically is hypnotic. The game looks gorgeous and runs beautifully (well, I did just buy a beast of a PC that cost me a kidney, which probably helps a bit). Of course, it is Early Access, which means we get to enjoy some surprise features: My extension cord has apparently discovered interdimensional travel and regularly gets swallowed by the floor, never to be seen again. Plugging a cable into the generator is a true test of faith. It requires about fifteen clicks, which is honestly worse than trying to plug in a USB drive in the dark. My character seems to have the agility of an anvil. Trying to climb over a miserable rock or a trash can is basically an extreme sport. For future updates, here is what I would really love to see: Attachments to extend the hoses! I am sick of walking my water pump around the map like a poodle. Wider squeegees to move more water in a single pass. A real use for the vacuum. Right now, it feels like it is just there for interior decoration. A rebalance of the drain physics. They clog back up way too fast! You clean a street drain, and five minutes later, it is packed with dirt again. With that much water flow, the dirt should logically wash away. Waste management. The floating chip bags are nice, but they serve no purpose right now. It would be amazing if those exact pieces of trash were blocking the grates instead of magic dirt that keeps reappearing. We could pick them up manually and throw them in a garbage bag. That would give us a chance to clean the parking lot or the street at the same time! Finding pocket change in the mud. Fishing out a few coins stuck in the grates would add a very fun treasure hunt aspect, without making us rich too fast and ruining our progression toward professional equipment. Manual unclogging with bare hands. When the water level is still too high, it is logically impossible to dig. Having a system to plunge our hands in and blindly unblock the drain flow would be a brilliant idea. Cleaning up the water pump shop. Honestly, I do not see the point of having four different pumps. Either you have a cheap model, or you have a powerhouse. If the four models are just there to look pretty, simply offer an option to choose the color of your pump. A high pressure washer. This would be the perfect tool to blast away stubborn grime stuck around the grates before pumping the water. An industrial heat cannon. In indoor contracts like restaurants or basements, once the water is pumped out, everything stays soaking wet. Being able to use a massive heating cannon to eliminate humidity and dry out the room would be an incredibly satisfying final step. Finally, a quick message for the people crying in the forums because the developer used some artificial intelligence. Come back to reality for a second. The guy is working entirely alone on Unreal Engine (which is not paid for in smiles). I would much rather see a solo creator use this technology smartly to improve their game, rather than a lazy developer who downloads premade 3D asset packs just to poop out a soulless Frankenstein game. Long story short, it is buggy, I spend my virtual life squeegeeing puddles, and it is absolutely brilliant. A big yes from me!

For the current Early Access Release; Written on 9th March 2026 There are about 9 levels to complete which took me about 5.5 hours to complete; The game has a solid Base to work from and I can possibly see Workshop Content being avaliable for people to create levels for players to beat. My only gripe has to be with some QOL Features such as If I place a water barrier first and there isn't anywhere to connect it to, You need to pickup the barrier, Place a pump down and then the barrier I feel like I should be able to move dirt from one place to another to create natural dams? Allowing to re-direct water without the use of barriers on large levels For the love of god, More fire Hydrants. There shouldn't be 2 hydrants next to each other to serve a church. Having them in extra places helps prepare better Introduce "Skills" which could include - Reducing costs of shop items - Larger Dig area - More Space in the truck to carry more items; At times I feel like pumps are needed but the higher level pumps are heavier - Connectable Hoses (Introduce a new Shop Item for this to work) - Being able to connect hoes together that way you can direct water perfectly without having to setup a chain of pumps Maybe some new shop items/Upgrades could be useful such as - Water Tank ; Carry water onboard the truck to fill barriers in places you know water will appear and want to block it. - Better Generators ; Allow for more items to connect to 1 generator - Longer Water Barriers ; Should take longer to fill but with the benefit of it being much longer That's all I can think of. Overall this game is well worth picking up for the price.
