Battlefield 3 is a perfect example of how games used to be made. Looking back at everything that came after it, I genuinely believe this is one of the strongest entries in the entire Battlefield series. Sure, some aspects may feel outdated by today's standards, but the overall quality of the experience is hard to ignore. The atmosphere, sound design, gunplay and large-scale battles all come together to create something special. The multiplayer was incredible, and the maps, vehicles and class system made every match feel like its own experience. There was something satisfying about jumping into a match and getting completely lost in the chaos of the battlefield. What makes it even more impressive is how well the game has held up over the years. Not every part of it has aged perfectly, but the foundation is so strong that it's easy to overlook those flaws. For me, it represents what made Battlefield such a special franchise in the first place. Battlefield 3 set a standard that I don't think the series has consistently managed to reach since. It's the kind of game that reminds you why you fell in love with a franchise, and even years later, it remains a standout experience. An absolute classic and one of the best Battlefield games ever made.
Battlefield 3 is a clear example of how games used to be made. Looking at everything that came after it, it`s easy to say that this is the best entry in the entire series. Yes, by today`s standards it may feel outdated, and that`s fair, but the level of quality it set was so high that most of the following games never managed to reach it. Only its direct successor came close by doing the same things slightly better. It`s honestly disappointing to realize that the later entries in the series started to stand out, and not in a good way. Battlefield 3 had everything: an engaging single player campaign, breathtaking musical score, and large scale multiplayer battles that brought enjoyment to hundreds of thousands of players. It`s no surprise that after so many unsuccessful releases, Battlefield 6 tried to take inspiration from this era of the series. Today, the multiplayer is mostly dead, but the game is still absolutely worth playing for those who never experienced its story campaign. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ☆ (9/10)
The campaign just hits differently. It's one of the best Battlefield games ever made, and I still can't believe it's almost 15 years old. This game is an absolute blockbuster from start to finish. The atmosphere and scale make it feel like you're playing through a war movie. The graphics were incredible for that time and honestly some scenes still look better than those in many modern shooters. The lighting, sound and overall presentation gives the game a level of immersion. The gameplay is a blast. Whether you're flying jets, driving tanks, or on foot, there's always something exciting happening. The tank mission was a bit frustrating and defenitely my least favorite part of the campaign. One thing I wish the campaign did better is showcase more of the game's environments. It only covers a small fraction of the locations and maps available in the full game The biggest annoyance is Battlelog/Portal having to go through it every time just to launch the campaign or multiplayer
Pros: Cool campaign, kinda short but for the price kinda w/e No bullsh*t in game. You have weapons and they kill baddies, that's it. No "powers", no attachments to your guns, no skill trees, just straight action The game looks nice and runs smoothly Even the flight mission is well done Cons: Launch the game on Steam It opens the EA app It then opens my browser so I can select the mode I want to play It then returns to EA app Finally opens the game, minimized for some reason Who came up with this? Random enemy spawns are kinda annoying A few bugs here and there, but nothing that soft/hardblocks progress --- 7/10 solid shooter, worth your money (with the -95% discount ofc, don't buy it full price) PSs: I haven't tried the multiplayer on PC, so I have no info on that front. Also I have played previously on PS3 years ago, got it again cause it's fun
