This might sound weird, but this is probably my favorite Counter Strike game. While many people pan this release considering it came out shortly before source, but it's probably the most complete package in the entire franchise. It features most of (if not all) maps from 1.6 and remade versions of select maps, single-player missions are an interesting idea, and most notably native bot support. It's always such a vibe to boot this game up on an older laptop and waste hours camping in the mansion map. The hostages also feel way more dynamic in this version than any other Counter-Strike game, which is just the cherry on top. This is a very good entryway into Valve games, even if it wasn't directly developed by them. TL;DR: Overlooked gem offering tons of offline content and classic multiplayer.
An often forgotten about entry in the Counter-Strike franchise; still worth picking up today as it is unique for being the only Counter-strike game to have a single player campaign. The campaign is pretty fun and challenging in its own right, included with CZ in a separate app called 'Deleted Scenes'. Its pretty linear but with scripted sequences, voice acting, the whole nine yards, and lets you play around with a ton of unique gadgets never seen anywhere else in the series. The actual Condition Zero is a solid game that has aged well all considering and its what you'd expect of a classic CS game, it plays similar to 1.6 but with improved graphics. It has a fun and challenging bot campaign mode(different from deleted scenes) where you can create your ideal counter terrorism team which you lead through all the maps fighting enemy bots while completing random challenges to progress. The black sheep of CS; to no fault of its own. It came out a little too late for 1.6 players to consider moving over, and mere months before Source came out, basically making this game obsolete upon release. All in all, a solid game that is definitely worth picking up on sale if you are a die-hard Counter-Strike fan, and a solid several hour single player campaign sounds compelling to you.
