I played “Battletoads” on the NES and the GameBoy and find it strange how negative people are talking about the game here. Because “Battletoads” is a good game. Sometimes it's a bit hectic, especially when you're playing with several Toads and you lose track of things, but that only minimally detracts from the fun of the game. The humor is fantastic, the animation is very, very good and the ideas for the special attacks are very creative. There is a lot to discover and the long beat-em-up stages are broken up with a few mini-games. You fight your way from left to right, and not too close. The difficulty level in “Normal” mode is tough but not annoying. If that's not enough for you, you can upgrade to “Battletoads”. And of course there is also a bike level which pushes the stress level up. Highly recommended for all fans of “Battletoads” and Beat'emUp games. 10/10 Toads

This games not bad, its got a lot of different play styles and a decent amount of difficulty, while still being very casual. The writing is pretty corny, and the game is kind of short. Overall i give it 5.8 out of 10. I recommend this game for 3 dollars or less.

I give it a 7 out of 10. The humor won't land with everyone (it makes me yell "YOUTHS" a lot and shake my fist at a cloud as an old man) but the game is a lot of fun. Act III in the campaign is a bit stretched out for my liking. There is no built in online co op for some reason which is borderline criminal.

I'm unsure where all the hate for this game comes from, The humor is set out to be exactly what the devs intended and I enjoyed it. Really enjoyed the scooter missions and the space missions. base combat is pretty good and gives a good difficulty

I went into the Battletoads reboot expecting an easy target—a quick playthrough, a few jokes about the art style, and done. But the more I played, the more I felt that this game didn’t deserve the reputation it had. The beat 'em up sections are an absolute blast, the art style is vibrant and fun, and the music is spot-on. The writing is generally solid—though when it’s bad, it's really bad. But those moments are the exception, not the rule. I ended up genuinely enjoying it, and it’s a shame that the game didn’t get a fairer shake. It’s got a lot to offer, and I’d totally recommend giving it a shot if you have the chance. It’s unfortunate that a sequel doesn’t seem likely because I’d love to see what they could do with a follow-up.
