Beeny is a compact but thoughtfully crafted vertical platformer developed and published by Siactro that embraces simplicity while demonstrating a strong sense of identity. Rather than attempting to overwhelm players with systems or mechanics, the game focuses on a single, clear idea: climbing upward through carefully designed stages using precise jumps and smart positioning. You play as Beeny, a small and expressive bee on a modest quest to gather honey in order to help a friend, and that understated premise sets the tone for a game that is gentle, charming, and quietly confident in what it wants to be. What immediately distinguishes Beeny from more conventional platformers is its strict commitment to verticality. Movement is entirely jump-based, with no running or complex inputs to manage, which forces players to rethink how they approach platforming challenges. Every leap must be considered in terms of height, arc, and landing rather than speed or momentum across flat ground. This design choice gives the game a deliberate, almost puzzle-like rhythm, where progress feels earned through careful timing and spatial awareness. As stages unfold, the player is gradually introduced to new hazards and interactive elements that build on this core idea without ever straying from it. Level design is compact but surprisingly varied, making excellent use of the game’s upward focus. Platforms are arranged to test different aspects of jumping skill, from precision landings on narrow ledges to chaining jumps using environmental helpers like bouncy creatures or moving surfaces. Enemies and hazards are placed in ways that punish impatience but reward observation, encouraging players to pause, read the screen, and commit only when confident. While the game is relatively short, each level feels dense and intentional, with little wasted space or filler content. Visually, Beeny leans heavily into a nostalgic aesthetic inspired by early pre-rendered platformers. The environments are rich with texture and warmth, giving the impression of handcrafted backdrops rather than flat, minimalist pixel art. Trees, foliage, and natural elements feel layered and alive, creating a cozy atmosphere that complements the game’s relaxed tone. Character animations are expressive despite their simplicity, and Beeny itself has a personality that shines through small visual touches rather than dialogue or exposition. The audio design reinforces this sense of charm and focus. The soundtrack is light and melodic, never intrusive, and well-matched to the game’s gentle pacing. Sound effects are clear and satisfying, especially when landing jumps or interacting with environmental objects, subtly reinforcing the tactile feel of movement. While the music may not dominate the experience, it plays an important supporting role in maintaining the game’s calm and inviting mood. In terms of longevity, Beeny is unapologetically brief, which may leave some players wishing for more content. However, the game offers optional challenges such as time trials and hidden secrets that add replay value for those who enjoy mastering levels and optimizing their runs. Its short length feels intentional rather than incomplete, aligning with the game’s philosophy of delivering a concise, polished experience rather than stretching ideas beyond their natural limits. Taken as a whole, Beeny succeeds because it understands its scope and executes within it exceptionally well. It is a small game with a clear vision, polished mechanics, and a strong aesthetic identity, offering a refreshing alternative to more complex or bombastic platformers. For players who appreciate tightly designed indie games, retro-inspired visuals, and a focus on pure movement skill, Beeny stands out as a charming and memorable experience that leaves a positive impression long after its brief journey ends. brilliant. it achieves what it sets out to do very well, kind of strange vertical platforming that is a pure DKC tree level autism and the visuals and music encapsulate the atmosphere of the DKC games very well. it is only short so it is easy to recommed and i would implore anyone who likes the DKC games to try it. two of this games music tracks are indefinately burned into my brain and refuse to leave my head and 2 weeks after playing this game its soundtrack is still on a loop inside my skull, banging job on the soundtrack and visuals. considering that the scope of this game is very limited and basic i have no trouble saying this is 9/10, it does what it set out to do exceptionally well and i feel that should this have been released as a SNES game bak in da dayz it would probably be a cult classic. well done guys, im definitely going to bang out Super Kiwi 64 within the next couple of weeks and i expect it to be good. Beeny is well worth the 2-5 hours or so that it will take from your pitifull digital peasntry lives so play it now or be gae forever!

I love the art style of the games that this developer makes. This game was much easier to 100% complete than Toree and is pretty short as the game doesn't have that many levels but its still fun gameplay wise and story wise.

It was much quicker than siactro's toree 3D to 100%, it was fun though but it needs to have more levels in a sequel because the formula is great, especially without ads but it would benefit from a 50 to 100+ level count as this was done in less than 30 minutes, and in comparison I spent about 20+ hours I assume 100%ing the other 1 dollar game toree 3D, what can I say I love ranking systems, they only had time trials here.
