BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is a flashy anime fighter with fast fights and wild characters. It can feel overwhelming at first, but it’s super satisfying once things start to click. The story is kind of confusing, not gonna lie, but the music and visuals slap. Great if you’re into technical fighters.

Poor game balance and arguably worse performance (for this PC port at least), but if you're looking for just a fun fighting game to try out, this one is pretty cheap (and goes on sale pretty frequently) and gives you a good feel for Blazblue and Arcsys fighting games as a whole. If you want a game you're gonna be able to get into long term though, Centralfiction or one of the popular Guilty Gear games are probably better choices.

i've only played this and Continuum Shift Extend in the BlazBlue series but this is a really fun game. Although the true ending is better in Continuum Shift Extend, the different individual stories are still fun to play through and watch. If this is on sale I definitely think it's a game worth getting

I played the second game way back in my teens on the 3DS a long, loooooong time ago. I remember loving it at the time, so I got the collection on steam for sale and finally got to playing the first one. I heard that it was good to start here for the story, because even though the second game has a summery, it leaves out a lot. After playing through the full story mode and getting 100% on all characters, I can say I considered it worthwhile. It certainly feels like more of a world setup, introducing characters and letting you get a feel for their interactions with each other. I enjoyed it overall. I can't review any of the other modes, as I planned on only playing story mode in the first title. I was very satisfied with story mode though.

Tao says, "Play BlazBlue NEOW!" (Love this game. Fun storylines for each of the fighters and interesting character design concepts. Also ALL the jiggle physics LMAO Controls are easy to pick up on, and once you get the hang of it the combos can get ridiculous. Enjoy.)
