I used to play this back in the day and a lot of Blazblue fans didn't like this one because it dumbed down the combos, which is absolutely understandable. For people who main fighting games and learn them for years or even decades on end, it felt like a slap in the face to them. However, as someone who had a lot of fighting game friends, I bought and played this anyway, because I wasn't as into fighting games as they were. For someone like me, who found BBCF great, but somewhat inpenetrable to get in to, BBTAG was actually fantastic. You still have to learn and practice combos of course, but they felt way more feasible for me to actually pull off. also the lil chibi characters are super cute none of that i just said matters have you seen little baby rachel she is ADORABLE

The only (official) fighting game equivalent of dumping a tub full of action figures on the ground and mashing them into each other, it's dumb fun at its best. No, Smash isn't a fighting game. Be warned that there isn't a whole lot of content, not even a proper arcade mode, and the online can be somewhat spotty and desync at times with the rollback update. The cut plans for future characters seriously hurt it the most, especially if you're a RWBY fan. At the very least, the game itself has the balls to say "Hey, we ran out of money, but we tried out best, and we hope you had fun" at the end of the second story episode. It's not the best, the balance is screwed to hell and back, the roster's a bit unevenly weighted in terms of franchises (RWBY only has the main team and Neo for example), the whole thing's essentially a HEAVILY budgeted asset flip, and the story's VERY biased towards BlazBlue characters (note the name), but I like it for what it is. If it looks fun to you, grab it on sale; the base edition very frequently goes for $5 USD.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle is a fast, chaotic tag fighter that mashes together a bunch of different series in a fun way. The controls are simplified compared to other BlazBlue games, which makes it accessible but a bit shallow for hardcore players. Matches are quick and flashy, making it great for casual sessions with friends. Not the deepest fighter out there, but definitely a fun one.

I absolutely love this game. It’s extremely easy to pick up and have a good time. The skill floor is pretty low. Only 2 primary attack buttons, auto combos and easy motion inputs. I’ve played a lot of BBCF and a little bit of Under Night, but both have a much higher skill floor. I can see why long time BB fans might not like this one, but I’m not looking at this as a mainline game.

The only Blazblue game on Steam that H2 Interactive did not break with a terrible PC port.
