Pretty much a spiratual successor to Bus Driver by SCS from 2006. If you are looking for a bus driving or bus company management simulator, it probably isn't for you. If you are just looking for a game to drive buses around a city then yeah it'll do. Plays pretty well, buses do feel as though they have some weight to them, the line editor is cool though could do with some refinement as its a bit finicky. Some features this game could really do with; - An option to go round the same line again once you reach the last stop, or the ability to choose a different line once you've ended one line, and then drive to the start of it if it doesn't depart from the stop you are at. - The option to drive back to the depot after completing a line. - The ability to walk around and have an explore around the world, so much work has been put into the design of the world, its a shame you can't go for a walk in it. Some issues I've noticed: - Seems to be a problem with games using UE by and large, instrument dials like to go blurry, which can make the speedo very difficult to read. - Buses sit a bit too low compared to the height of curbs, as a bus driver IRL, we can and do sweep the front end over the pavement to get into certain stops, in this if you try that theres a fair chance you'll have a pretty violent collision. The Tracks Interchange especially seems to have quite a lot of collision hitboxes where theres nothing visible.

Bus Bound is, perhaps, a little underwhelming but roughly what I would expect from a Saber Interactive title after release. The game includes a few areas, with assurance to expand at a regular schedule, along with hopes for updates to fix things. I think this game is great for people like me, who can't name every single modern bus brand and doesn't want to manage 20 keybinds to play. I just like to drive bus around and see number go up. It is very satisfying to see the map change and become more transit-focused. Feels like anti car fan service and I am here for it. Performance was horrible on launch, but 2 days later the game runs totally fine. I think a NVIDIA driver update helped but I'm unsure. Main complaints about this game are just general lack of finish. Core gameplay, they have down. Traffic works, bus drives good. But things like the NPCs moving like a horde, being stuck in the ground, really suck. No AI busses feels super weird when half the map becomes bus lanes, very quickly. Something is definitely a little off with the lighting, the car lights look like the effects I'd see on roblox in 2013. Review is positive because the core is fine, and because I've lived through the Snowrunner expansion experience, which over a few years made the game seriously expansive. Bus Bound definitely needs some expansions. In it's current state, game is probably worth more like 15-20$, not 30$

🚏 Bus Bound Review 🚌 I have played a lot of bus simulators over the years, and all of them have their cons and pros that I love and hate at the same time. Even though my playtime is only 4 hours, I just wanted to point out I also played the demo for a good 8+ hours. I’ve been keeping a close eye on this game for a while, being a fan of bus sims and all! Firstly, the graphics are beautiful. The city feels so alive, which I find is where a lot of bus sims lack. I love having an alive city, with more people walking around, you can even hear children shouting in the background. It’s nice as you drive around the city some buildings might have music playing loudly as you pass. When you go past a high school or pre-school, you hear children shouting, laughing and playing, which is just a lovely touch. Even going past sports grounds, you hear games being played, crowds cheering their teams, and whistles blowing. Just amazing! Weather in this game is really good. When it’s windy and you open your bus doors, you can actually feel the wind, the camera shakes and wobbles, making it feel realistic, as if you’re there. The rain is the same really good, with realistic raindrops on the glass. A bonus is that when you drive in third person, you still get rain on the screen and the window wiper effect, which I really love. The bus line system seems really easy and simple. It’s very easy to make your own lines, add bus stops or remove them. Levelling up bus stops feels more rewarding than in other games. It comes with a lot of rewards, but also city upgrades. You can unlock things such as new bus stops, new buses, paints and skins, but also bonus city features like bus-only lanes or shortcuts. I love that touch it’s like the city sees the effort of the bus driver (you) and helps by upgrading itself. I love all the buses they’ve added. I’ve yet to unlock them all, but so far the sound effects are really nice. I also love the bus stop chimes each bus has. You can customise your bus too not something new in bus sims, but it feels like there are more customisation options Bus Bound. They introduced something I’ve not seen before, the indicator camera that pops up. I actually love it. If you’re not a fan, you can turn it off. I don’t have head tracking, and it makes looking side to side much easier without needing to move the camera as much. Keeping your passengers happy is also in the game, driving slowly over bumps, stopping fully at stop signs, and following road laws is rewarding. You can also add bonus “quests” for extra rewards and thumbs up, like driving a full route staying in cockpit view or not crashing once, etc. It adds to the fun. Of course, the game does have some issues. I’ve had a bit of stuttering. Also, I was driving fast in a low bus going up a hill, and the bottom of my bus clipped and sent it flying into the air lol. As funny as it was, it was also annoying as I got angry passengers and thumbs down. It doesn’t happen often, only twice so far and I’ve just learned to slow down on inclines. The AI can sometimes be a bit annoying, but again, it’s rare just things like cars randomly stopping. I even had a car disappear in front of me once. My last concern is that the game crashed once. Might be a one-off, but crashes always worry me. All in all, an amazing game. It’s a bus simulator and does it really well. Very relaxing and calming. This bus sim is also more “arcade” you don’t have to deal with things like tickets or giving change. I personally like that, as I’m a bit lazy and just enjoy driving along, but some people might prefer the full realism of being a bus driver, so just be aware that’s not in the game. Drive safe! 🚍 Tip: If you want to find more reviews like this, check out our curator page [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/41527689/]Moon's Tea House

Ladies and gentlemen, we got it. This is the first bus simulator in the history of the bus simulators that runs butter smooth. It have great choice of buses and the city is piece of art, not to mention effects, graphics, traffic and everything else. I love the architecture and I love the city layout. I love everything about this game. This is a definitive gem of a bus simulators and homage to the genre. 100/10.

Honestly went into this thinking it would be background noise for this lasy weekend since apparently its going to rain for the most part. My boys (8 and 10) had seen the trailer somewhere and would not let it go, so I bought it mostly to end the campaign rather than because I had real expectations. Thirty bucks felt like a low risk way to get an afternoon of "okay sure, let's drive a bus." We had a 2 hours run and the keyboard has changed hands more times than I can count. Something about the rhythm of it just works. You pull into a stop, the doors hiss open, people shuffle on, you wait. Then you pull out, mind the indicator, watch the lights, ease into the next stop. Sounds boring written out. It isn't. It's some sort of delightful routine that can go on for some time without getting bored. The boys started arguing over who gets the next pickup, so we made up a rule on the spot: drive three stations, then hand it over. That turned the whole thing into something weirdly cooperative. The older one started coaching the younger one on signaling earlier. I started coaching both of them on not stomping the brake when there's an old lady standing. Which became the running joke of the afternoon. We figured out pretty fast that if you take a speed bump too aggressively, the passengers actually react to it. So, naturally, they wanted to do it on purpose. We took turns being the responsible driver and the chaos driver. It's silly. It's also exactly the kind of low stakes nonsense that keeps an 2 young boys locked in on a rainy day. What got me, and I didn't see this coming, is how much the game doubles as a teaching moment without me forcing it. Stop too far from the curb, people grumble. Skip a station, your rating drops. The kids picked up cause and effect almost immediately, and somewhere along the way we ended up having a genuine conversation about why you don't stand right at the door, why you let elderly passengers sit before pulling out, why you say thank you to the driver when you step off. Just absorbed through play. Which in real life they would ignore no matter how many times I'll repeat it. The bigger compliment I can give the team is on the pricing. Thirty USD for a polished sim is more than fair, and a bit surprising honestly when comparable simulator titles routinely sit at fifty plus. Whoever made that call at stillalive and Saber, you're the MVP, ladies and gents. Early impressions only, sure. But these first 2-3 hours alone worth the money in my personal opinion. Which is subjective, of course, as it probably wouldn't been the same without my 2 kids. On a criticism note: Passenger reactions could use more variety. Traffic AI gets a bit predictable once you learn the patterns. But other than that, the game ran smooth for me and I had a blast. Still discovering new things and exploring on every new trip. If you're a parent looking for something properly chill that you can hand off to your kid for a while without worrying about content, this is the one. Hoping the team stays with it and keeps building. We're going back at it tomorrow morning again.
