Its a cute cosy cat game where u run a cafe and make coffee and croissants. I play it on the cozy setting which removes most timed issues. Definitely worth it imo.

In Cats & Cups you're a cat that runs the most purrrfect coffee shop in town. Treat your customers to the best coffee, various drinks and yummy croissants. Gameplay & Settings I played this game on launch and truthfully was frustrated by the normal mode. I found the machines broke too much, money was hard to come by and the days were too short. However ever since they introduced cozy mode I am having a blast. I have earned most upgrades and unlocked all the syrups and foods with only a few achievements left to earn. Tips for Cozy Mode 🫘 Try to unlock teas as soon as possible, they are popular and easy to make and to make money from but the initial cost may seem steep until you get a comfortable stock of them. 🫘 Check the billboard and claim your achievements to get extra tickets. Tickets give money prizes. 🫘 Try to unlock the upgrade Lucky Cat Statue when you can to gain one ticket per day. 🫘 Try to upgrade your grinder first, the hand crank gets old fast and the automatic is so much nicer. Settings & extras include; languages, tutorial (on or off), camera sensitivity and mode, audio controls, display and graphics settings, v-sync, shadow quality, vfx quality and post-processing. Overall Experience I highly enjoy this game in cozy mode. The music is very relaxing (lo-fi beats) set to some fun barista gameplay. All the drinks you can make and different variations of croissants (guide is available for the types of croissants if you need help) is enjoyable once you can start upgrading your machines. Money was easier to come by once I had my upgrades on the go. Gameplay became fun and addictive. This game is absolutely not cosy at all, in fact it's down right stressful. The economy is also broken, but sadly I'm addicted to this game.

I really liked this game - it reminds me a lot of the Flash games from my childhood, but prettier. It has its own challenges. For example, when a thief comes. Some recipes have a lot of ingredients, which adds to the difficulty, as you might get confused and have to start over or deliver the drinks in less-than-perfect condition. I like that the gameplay involves manually mixing and grinding everything - there are various mini-games throughout the cooking process. A nice little game for a couple of evenings with coffee ✨

TLDR: It is not a perfect game, but if you like cosy and calm cafe simulators with some consequences and lots of cute cats, then you won't go wrong with this one. The good: • The game has a very cozy atmosphere, and the art is cute. • There are lots of recipes to make and they all feel the right level of involved. • The various minigames for different ingredients are easy to learn and varied enough to not get boring. • The music and general sound design is calming and charming (apart from one significant issue) • The game feels relaxing while still having some consequences for your actions The bad: • The tutorial is lacking which results in some unclear mechanics • You can only make 6 baked goods each day, and you can’t save them from day to day. Combined with there being a lot more than 6 baked recipes, makes the baking part of the game feel like it punishes you for unlocking new recipes • There is no visual difference between a baked good with and without salt, which makes it quite annoying. • There is a general lack of accessibility settings, while it the game does have an ADHD/Autism audio setting it seemingly does nothing, and it’s the only accessibility setting in the game. So if you have low motor dexterity or some other needs for accessibility then I would avoid this game. • The oven in the cafe for warming the backed goods is very annoying, it beeps every second it runs and warming a single backed good takes 9 seconds so that is 9 quite loud and annoying beeps. There is no way of turning that sound down individually or to turn it off, without also turning all the other otherwise nice and lovely sounds off. • There are some minor visual glitches Generally I think this game needed a bit more testing and some more finishing touches before being released, however it is also quite cheep and super charming, and I’ve still had a good time with it, and as such I would still recommend it.
