The game is good, and relaxing... But... I can't play it because every time the camera moves to a new area I get vertigo. If you get motion sickness, you won't be able to play this game, sadly.

8/10 - Super chill and relaxing shop management game. There is one thing that could probably make or break this game for you. Do you want challenge in all of your games? Because you will not find it here. There are no fail state, no way of angering your customers, they will wait until you have the object they are looking for, even if it takes months of in game time. To time pressure to speak of (other than a limited amount of actions per day). If you need some kind of challenge, then you will most likely be bored, but if you like to just relax for a while, with some "Power wash simulator"-type of minigames and follow a cute and silly story with some weird and delightful characters, then you can do much worse than Trash Goblin. Very enjoyable, in between more taxing games.

Trash Goblin is a really charming little game that's good for when you need something chill, low intensity and a little tedious. The core loop of Trash Goblin is about extracting, cleaning, repairing/improving, and selling items. The mini-games for each action are simple and easily understood; extraction is the most complicated with some light puzzle elements of where to chisel away. There are accessibility options to make each of them auto-input, and you'll want to activate them - the cleaning and chiseling can be real repetitive stress inducing without. The art assets are the biggest feature of the game for me - the designs of all of the named characters are lovely and it's always fun to see what quirky character will visit with a request next. The mini-stories for those characters are very charming and jokes & bits got a few good smiles out of me. The main story is serviceable and wrapped up neatly, but has a bit of the issue of your character being kind of a side character with little agency in their own story. The pacing is a little odd. The game tries to prioritize the items that are currently being requested, either by the named characters or a generated stranger waiting at your window. Because of this, you clear quests quite quickly - it keeps the plot moving right along, but doesn't give the player a lot of time to stew in the simulator aspect of it. Because you can expect your quest items to turn up most of the time, you don't have time to get a big stock of random junk to store/upcycle, and without junk to sell the story-necessary market trips feel a little empty and the randoms can just be safely dismissed so more named characters will turn up faster. It gives the game a slightly whirlwind feeling that's a little counter-intuitive to a relaxing, mundane chill-out game, but it also gets you through the plot before it has time to overstay its welcome, so... I don't know - not exactly a bad thing, but it feels strange and it would be nice to have a little more time for the simulator and creative aspects to shine between side-stories. Overall, I think it's a really neat little simulator - highly recommended for folks who want a simulator with a unique, fantastical setting instead of the usual real-world business sims.

One goblin’s trash is another goblin’s treasure! Find, fix and clean trash to sell for sweet coin and upgrades. The Story & Gameplay You're a young up and coming entrepreneur in the world of salvaging trash and turning into treasures. Uncover, clean and repair trinkets to up-cycle them and sell them to a colourful cast of characters you will meet who frequent your shop. There are no time limits (well the game is divided into days with so many actions per day allotted) but during the day there is no rush. The game does have a nice narrative that runs alongside the gameplay. During the game’s progression you can unlock shop upgrades and decor for your sleeping area and shop. You can also eventually travel to a few new locations to sell your goods that you accumulate and are not tied to quest progression. This is where you make the bulk of your money. Most of the characters you meet in these different locations will ask for items you have in your inventory (think of it as a good way to make coin and clean house). * If you buy the dlc (which is all cosmetic) it will unlock around day 18 as part of the story’s progression when you unlock the customization mode. My only real gripe with this game is I find upgrades to be very expensive, even the cosmetic ones to decorate your shop and sleeping area. I can understand the tool upgrades being more as you scale up to better and better items but the deor could be cheaper to just decorate. Visuals & Audio Visually the game has some great hand-made illustrations that are cartoonish and vibrant. I loved all the characters, especially Auntie. The soundtrack is very relaxing and there is some minimal voice work in the form of little grunts or oohs and aah hahs. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3490230188 Settings & Features Settings & features include; audio controls, subtitle options, rotation speed, resolution, display options, language, chip & cleaning mode, camera speed, edge movement and dlc cursor cosmetic option (dlc required). Overall Experience I really enjoy this game, it is wholesome, humorous and relaxing to play. If you like the feel that games like Crime Scene Cleaner or Power Wash Simulator give you when you play, then this game will be right up your alley. The story and all achievements took me about 10 hours to complete. 💗 ✨ You can keep playing beyond the story if you just want to keep finding items, selling, repairing and visiting other locations! Or just work towards unlocking all the cool upgrades and cosmetics. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/32732116-IndieGems/] Follow IndieGems for more reviews like this one. All other 'Cozy Games' that put time pressures on you need to pay attention to Trash Goblin. There is a clock, yes. There are only so many tasks you can get done in a day, yes. But there isn't a pressure. Customers will wait for you to find their item, or come back and it's ok. This game is whimsical, lovely, and an actual COZY game.
