I'm leaving this game with really mixed feelings. This is a really fun concept with amazing artwork, funny dialogue, and an easy to digest story. I found myself liking several of the characters especially Donoval and Aunty. My problem comes with the gameplay itself. Unlike some of the other games where you clean/fix items, there's really not a lot of variation when it comes to what you need to do. A lot of your gameplay will consist of rotating a camera and holding down your mouse button while you hear the annoying clink clink of the chisel. There's also the option to wash items, combine them, and recolor them, but you have a tub that you can place (eventually) up to 3 items in to wash themselves overnight, combining objects can be really finicky, and the recolor tool is relatively expensive so you won't even have access to it for a large portion of the game and when you do get access, you have to extract colors from one object before applying it to another. The problem really comes to a head when you take into account the way time works into the game. You have six time slots, and can purchase 1 additional slot a night for 20 coins. Each action you take on the workbench takes up 1 time slot, and going to the market takes up 3. Until you beat the game, you can only go to the market on the 3rd and 6th days of the week. Why? For no godly reason at all. Time means nothing in this game except having to click around your hovel and sit through some loading screens. The plot can be put off for as long as you please, the customers do not care how long it takes to procure items, and you don't ever have to worry about losing the game because you ran out of rent or have to manage resources like food. You can also make absolutely fine money at the market with dirty bits of trash. This wound up making an otherwise very enjoyable game really tedious. I bought it because I figured it would be mindless enough to listen to my audiobooks to, and it is, and I'll probably keep playing it specifically as something to do with my hands while I listen to audiobooks. But I think this game could be so easily and massively improved by upgrades that allow you to fit more actions into a day (incentivizing you to use more than 1 tool) and potentially adding a couple more tools. They could even go in and make it so you can edit how fast or slow the day loop is. Ultimately I think this game is fine in its current state, neither great nor terrible, so long as you know what you're getting into. It's not a short game, the plot sometimes takes a while to spawn the items you need in order to advance, so I think people should know what they're in for when they buy it. I do hope they do some updates or maybe some DLC to add some content, and I'd still be down to see what the studio produces in the future.

I'm not sure about some of the negative reviews on this. I played from beginning to end without any game-breaking or even particularly noticeable bugs. It's a game where you clean and collect trinkets and sell them, and there is a cute story to go along. Of course there's going to be repetitive gameplay. The world-building is awesome, the main character is cute, the story has enough ominous energy that we're all collectively side-eyeing some things the entire time. I had fun putting together the trinkets and collecting them. It lets you change the settings so you don't have to click, you can just hold the mouse and it'll chip away or clean stuff for you. I really enjoyed it! It's not going to be some epic adventure, but it's a trinket-finding game with a bunch of story orbiting it. :)

So, I like the game enough to generally recommend it, and played through the main story, for about 20 hours of gameplay total. That said, it's a weak recommendation, and I can easily see bits that will fail to hold people's interest or outright turn them off. Let's get to the damning with faint praise, then! This game is here to tell you stories. The stories are all pleasant enough, but, outside of the main story, they're little more than an excuse to make you acquire/craft specific items, without much in the way of continuity beyond those simple transactions. In contrast, the main story threads through the entire game... but it's a story that happens around you, not with you, with choices that look to have zero impact on the story as a whole. To break up the stories, you have the mechanical meat of the game: chiseling out finds from the bags your Auntie sources for you, cleaning them up, and "upcycling" them by slapping different bits together. Of these, chiseling is the best part - with a controller, it's a pretty relaxing approximation of turning something over in your hands while you work out how best to disassemble it. The worst is cleaning, especially with the wretched sponge you're given to start with. Thankfully, you can both upgrade that sponge and get soak tubs to minimize the cleaning you need to do, so it's not as bad as it could be. Still, both the stories and the work are generally nice and relaxing enough to keep you coming back for another in-game day, so it's worth recommending. It may not be a great game, but it's a decidedly okay game.

The game is good, and relaxing... But... I can't play it because every time the camera moves to a new area I get vertigo. If you get motion sickness, you won't be able to play this game, sadly.
