since the world generation is procedural it might be my experience, but i find this game to be quite underrated. i've seen the word "mediocre" being thrown around it. it's not mediocre, it just has an uninspired setting (the pixel art is top notch)

It's an RPG Metroidvania with a very solid core, if a bit on the simpler side of things (kind of feels a bit more like an NES Castlevania game in a way) and having some slightly underwhelming magic and movement abilities. It's pretty fun to play and with a gorgeous art style. The main turn off for me is that the proc gen doesn't have enough variety and interesting modifiers to justify itself. The rooms on a floor start to feel samey and lack the kind of "ooo, what's going to be in this next room" feeling that I look for in these kinds of games. It's enjoyable regardless and I do think a lot of early complaints were addressed with updates over time

What an awesome game! The learning curve at the beginning was a little discouraging, but once I clicked with the upgrades and customizing armor, weapons and magic--it was an addictive and thoroughly enjoyable game. Metroidvania maps are very important to me, and this game's mapping layout was so helpful and clear! Bit Kid's pixel art is gorgeous too, with deep color tones for the biome backgrounds that somehow make the foreground sprites really pop. Highly recommended!

I dont get the complaints that the map is "randomly" generated. It doesnt make a huge impact on game play. The only complaint I had is that in the last area there is no way to teleport back to town and there is only 1 save point halfway between the start of the zone and the end boss so if you die you have a hike to get back.

got it on a discount but i wouldnt pay 20 euros for it So what is chasm chasm is adventure rpg metroidvania with platform elements. you find loot through killing enemies and these loots have rarities making a new game not feel the same they also do procedural generated rooms. but that doesnt really make the game flow better i'd say this game is perfectly average, or MID in how people would say. the main issue lies in it's rpg elements wich are fine but arnt really capitalised on, like you find gear and sometimes come with a kill wich can be lvld. by killing mobs, but you only find like 2 in the entire game and their from secret chests. if the game had fleshed out the equipment system more we could actually experiment moren with builds other then " more magic / more atk / or crit " . the music is there but it's also quite mid theres no thumping tracks no bumping boss battles just it's there and it exsists. the game isnt as hard and difficult on the platforming, theres no sense of being stuck in molasses it's just very static with it's jumps and the skills give you more to manouver and the backdash also helps. the adventure is also quite Mid , there are secrets but theres like only a 1 time solution for it. like you use a time potion only once in the entire game theres no extra puzzles or things that use multiple anwser wich was kind of a letdown. platforming is the one thing that isnt average it does feel warranted and sometimes a challenge. the challenge is still Mid i do like the enemy and boss designs. those where quite nice the game is relatively short too so it's like between 6 and 9 hours. some of the upgrades come a bit too late. for how far you are in the game + you have a blacksmith you cant upgrade your exsisting equipment with him? that was weird allright overall verdict. played through it , enjoyed myself but overall a very MIDtroidvania. theres deffinetly aspects could've cooked longer. and not the worst but not the best either so its not like you shouldnt play this.
