Chill ... is the word that describes it perfectly. Does what it suppose to do in well designed pixel graphics settings thats pleasant to look at and has great music library. Some of the competition are a bit too much interactive. They can become a distraction instead of helping in concentrating. Which could be a good or bad thing depending on what you want. But if you want simple yet pleasant productivity utility that helps you concentrate and chill, you really can't go wrong with this. And if you want more interaction you can always switch between them to get utilize the best of both.
Leaving a bad review just because Chill Pulse is simpler than Spirit City: Lofi Sessions makes no sense to me. I'll always pick Chill Pulse; it's supposed to help you focus, not bombard you with stuff just to scratch the brain itch. I recently bought it and honestly it's been a huge help. I can focus better on my studies and it really calms down the ADHD monkey brain. The songs are great, some help me stay in the zone, others are perfect for breaks because they're a bit more catchy. You can also turn them off and leave just nature sounds in the background, which is really nice. I've also been making progress on my book since I started using it and that is truly shocking for me. It actually helps me form a routine and stay consistent and somehow it tricks my brain into this because I see it like a game that I like to play, so it's like a quest. I love the cozy graphics, the interface which is very easy to use and the Pomodoro timer with the alarm is super helpful, together with the calendar and to-do list. Oh and the letters! Sometimes I send one and the replies make me giggle, it's such a cute touch! Thank you for creating this. ♥
PROS beautiful stylized graphic, better than the 3d stuff imo. simple and does not have an overwhelming amount of animation or *pings*. super calming to use and really does help with focusing. CONS - I wish there was an option to turn off the +experience fire icon that shows up when you go into focus mode. i've gotten used to it now, but at the beginning I couldn't help looking at it, instead of working... - if you want to turn off certain songs/tracks, you have to click them one by one. it'll be cool if there was a select all option or a drag and select option. - you can only decorate your character's clothes, accessories and change the pets. however you can't really add anything to the room itself, or the desk the character is working on, or change the overall appearance of the character.
