very cute little game you can get a lot of time out of it for the price if you like the demo you'll have fun with the rest of the game it's also been updated since the pictures on the store page, there are more packs of fish and the ui looks better i definitely recommend turning on the "fewer clicks" setting --- pros: - art style is cute and reminds me of wii play fishing - pretty and nice to look at, fish movement is relaxing and i imagine it would be nice to have idling on a second monitor (though i only have one) - lots of fish with unique appearances and alternate painted colors (+golden/rainbow) - simple farming gameplay loop that anyone could understand - fish don't die and grow on their own (slowly) without being fed - customize the lighting, pebbles, name of each tank - custom name fish - nice music and sfx cons: - you start with a freshwater tank and unlock saltwater later, so the first two fish packs are freshwater, but then the next 3 are all saltwater, so the freshwater tanks just kinda sit doing nothing because: - money could be balanced better, there's a significant gap in cost and profit between each of the 7 packs, and once you're onto a new pack, the previous one doesn't make a worthwhile profit (ie fish that make $0.20/day (swordtail, pack 1) taking the same exact time to grow as ones that make $50,000,000/day (swordfish, pack 5)). this combines with the next point, that it: - absolutely gets grindy in the late game, which is a funny thing to say about an aquarium idler. to unlock later items (golden tickets) you need to raise all of the painted varieties of fish per pack, and pulling a really rare fish that also has the rare painted color genuinely takes hours of pulling and instaselling baby fish. pulling and hatching fish itself takes time (click to open a pack of 4, click/mouse over each fish card to hatch it) and there's no way to speed it up when youre going to sell them all anyway. and it's not like something you can idle--when you pull the fish, they're either what you need or what you don't, so there's no reason not to just pull 100 new fish, which again is manual. like it was genuinely hurting my wrist. there's also no way to do some sort of mouse mover automation thing because you're waiting for something specific and the game doesn't confirm if you want to sell undiscovered fish - decorations are so wildly expensive vs lighting/pebbles that it's entirely not worth it, like spending 3 quadrillion dollars on a dino skull that doesn't make any money. i could see the prices being like that if they made money themselves or fed the fish slowly or something but they just sit there. the most expensive lighting is 1 trillion, but the most expensive decoration is so high that the price still shows as question marks 80 hours into the game (next highest being the 3 quadrillion paperweight). bc they were added in an update vs light/pebbles, i think they're supposed to add more to the late game but the cost curve is just so high for not much return - lighting can be a little weird? it's sort of like it has a day/night cycle but sometimes tanks will be much brighter/darker and you can't do anything about it, and it doesn't seem to be synced with my computer clock or anything. there's a button on the tank screen to toggle the lights but it doesn't reset it back to normal, it's like there are multiple light sources randomly and you can only control the one --- qol feature suggestions: on the tank screen: - a way to jump to the fish collection entry to see if you've hatched one already. never hatched fish show up as "???" but there's no way to tell if you've hatched a painted version already without clicking out to the collection screen - multiselect fish to move tanks, sell, lock at once - display each fish's time to adulthood based on xp - sort fish by % to adulthood - sort fish by their adult value/income rather than their baby value/income (which are all the same within a pack) - an option to make the ui more condensed, you can only see 4 fish at a time (on my 1920x1080 at least) - the tank income can be display per day/hour/min/sec, but the fish income can only be displayed per day so i just always keep them in the same units - more obvious indicator for which fish are locked (slightly grayed out card, etc) - setting to automatically lock fish of a certain rarity/color/type when pulled - filter by rarity/color rather than just age on the collection screen: - an alert you can place on a fish to look out for. could show an aura around the fish (similar to when you click one to view), or make its card glow, make a unique noise when pulled etc - name labels under fish sprites, or only on hovering over the fish - labels for which row is which pack (like on the upgrades menu), i've just been counting down the rows each time - visual indicator for which fish are undiscovered (black w/white outline) vs all-black fish (ie black tang, painted goldfish) on the main ui: - a label for which tank you're currently viewing, and whether it's saltwater or freshwater - a confirmation when selling undiscovered/legendary/mythic/rainbow/named fish (can be an optional setting) --- despite its cons i am enjoying the game and would like to fill out my collection, and i will absolutely be buying the dev's upcoming bird idler wing haven :)

🎉🎉🎉 Finally managed to hundo this game on 25 Sep 2025, yay! 🎉🎉🎉 I think I started this game on Aug 13? or Aug 14, cant really remember But what I do remember is having fun playing this game so I am rating this game a thumbs up 👍 The gameplay is really simple. Buy fish -> raise fish -> either sell them or keep them for passive income -> aim to collect all types of fishes! Rinse and repeat! This game really lives up to its name being a chillquarium aka a chill game You can either feed it in the background (requires some basic setup) or simply login in a few times a day just to check their growth and decide if you want to keep or sell them away All fishes have a set amount of xp needed to grow into an adult and they grow passively too. Some requires just minutes to become an adult, some requires hours, some requires days. The growing process can be sped up by feeding them (which is what I did) , I played this game actively which is why you'd see my hours are high, hehe At the moment, there are 6 types of fishes in game: Freshwater Friends, Rivers and Ponds, Reef Fellas, Marine Dwellers, Giants, Spring Pals, Pelagic Dudes And 4 types of form in game: Common, Painted, Golden, Rainbow. To get all achievements, we have to get them all in their Common, Painted, Golden form :D Rainbow form is exclusively rare and simply for Enthusiast and they are not needed for achievement completion The fishes has 5 types of rarity: Common, Uncommon, Epic, Legendary and Mythic The higher their rarity, the more xp they need to grow into an adult fish. Fishes with higher xp requirements naturally brings a higher income to you~ When the fishes are in their baby form, they are soo adorable! And it was really fun to see them grow into an adult fish I was really enjoying myself opening the packs and getting the rare fishes, I squeal with joy everytime :D:D:D This game is really generous in the sense that they will give us what we needed if we bought enough packs. I believe there is a hidden mechanic that gives us the exact type of fish we are missing if we reach a certain buying cap. I think that's really considerate of the dev so that we do not have to endlessly grind too much Getting all golden fishes may seems intimidating but fret not! As we progress long enough into the game, there is an option for us to buy fishes in their golden form too but it requires a hefty price Have fun raising the fishes!
