I really love this game. I was excited for it, but when I started, I initially thought "The auto-reel is doing so much for me... Can I even play? Is this purely an idle game?". That made me inclined to be skeptical, but I absolutely had no reason to worry. This game has simple gameplay, but is at once wonderfully intricate, and I feel like you only realize this more and more. It feels like so much care and thought went into every part of it. I love the quests, the journal, the fun fictional fish, the tiers, the whimsy of a delivery bird and a mouse shop, the progression of upgrades, the consumables... Everything feels so tightly-knit. Even the settings are considerate. The pricing also somehow seems perfect. It's just steep enough when you're reaching for your next goals. Nothing is so easy that you breeze through leveling up and unlock everything all at once. That feels like a hard balance to strike, so I really appreciate it. The cosmetics feel the same way, where you're really weighing the cost against the price of your next upgrade. It adds another layer of thought to how you're playing. The rotating mouse-shop exclusive cosmetics are always an exciting little surprise, too. I'm really looking forward to having this game accompanying my desktop for a long time. I'd like to level up all of my favorite fish from the arctic biome and get their shiny versions to keep in my favorites tab, especially. Thank you for such a fun game.
Pros: The character animations and customization are cute, and look really nice at the bottom of your screen. Follows the idle game formula very well - not very automated in the beginning, but the more you upgrade the more automated it is The fish are interesting and not just normal fish you can find in real life, and very fun to collect. Very customizable with what you need at the time to focus- remove all the sounds or make the screen larger or smaller. Cons: Hard to get some more difficult fish if you just let the game go unless you really upgrade the fishing strength, harder fish need you to press to help it and that's distracting you from other things you're doing. It's very difficult to 100%, and may get frustrating after a while. Not a lot of customization for the character, could add more things, but the price is so low I wouldn’t really expect that. Finished? No Steam Achievements? Insanely grindy. Steam Deck? Why would you do this? A surprisingly simple and obscure ADHD game The concept is really simple — catch some fish and enjoy life. The game offers different locations and different kinds of fish and varying quality, it all just keeps eating up your time. Of course, later game simplifies the catching process a bit with all sorts of potions, so u can finish up and unlock the achievements. The game plays around with different ways of presenting the ADHD. Like, u can play it like in the background without getting too involved, but at first u really have to catch every kind of fish, and later on, u have to catch S+ quality ones too — and that can only be done manually. In every game, I get really absorbed in the process and focus on getting the best possible results. I have ADHD and probably some kind of OCD, but that doesnt matter. I really enjoyed playing. It was very calming for me. Plus, the fish are drawn quite nicely, and its cool that u can customize ur character! The entire game process took 331 hrs for me. It was actually a little sad to say goodbye to the game after so many hours :(
