Kinda like SimCity 4, quite rough around many edges, but I like that the city kinda lives on it's own. It's really cool to have a 3D city builder that does that, however there's a lot to be desired. As much as I adore sandbox city builders, I've always wanted a game that would be more based around policy making and, well, being a mayor, not just a sandbox, and although this game doesn't quite scratch that itch, I do really appreciate the attempt to create at least something kinda like that, so I'd still recommend it if you want to try something that attempts to do something different than your average city builder, similarly to how the Cities In Motion games focus on transport.

Despite it's current abandoned state, this game far exceeded any expectations that I had for it. Starting with open land and working up to a thriving metropolis is an achievement not just viewable from above, but also from a street level as well via driving mode. The ambient music is 10/10. It reminds me of the music they use for google earth VR and is very fitting for the atmosphere of the game. The game does have a rather steep(ish) learning curve. It took me maybe 3 hours to fully become comfortable with the mechanics and UI layout, even being familiar to the genre. The graphics aren't bad either, for such a small studio game, they really went above and beyond to make sure everything was looking tip top, but also not so crazy that it could only run on higher end machines. I can't think of another city sim you can buy for $7.50 (on sale right now) that even comes close to matching the endless hours of engagement that this game provides. Just remember.. Abandonware doesn't equal BADware.

I wish the game continued it's development because it's actually really good, at first I was going to complain about the lack of sandbox mode but the money printing money replaces it, overall a fun play but can get bored quickly if you're not good at building for the sake of building. ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is β˜‘ Beautiful ☐ Good ☐ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Donβ€˜t look too long at it ☐ MS-DOS ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Very good ☐ Good β˜‘ It's just gameplay ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm β˜‘ Very good ☐ Good ☐ Not too bad ☐ Bad ☐ I'm now deaf ---{ Audience }--- ☐ Kids β˜‘ Teens β˜‘ Adults ☐ Grandma ---{ PC Requirements }--- ☐ Check if you can run paint ☐ Potato β˜‘ Decent ☐ Fast ☐ Rich boi ☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer ---{ Difficulty }--- ☐ Just press 'W' ☐ Easy β˜‘ Easy to learn / Hard to master ☐ Significant brain usage ☐ Difficult ☐ Dark Souls ---{ Grind }--- ☐ Nothing to grind β˜‘ Only if u care about leaderboards/ranks ☐ Isn't necessary to progress ☐ Average grind level ☐ Too much grind ☐ You'll need a second life for grinding ---{ Story }--- β˜‘ No Story ☐ Some lore ☐ Average ☐ Good ☐ Lovely ☐ It'll replace your life ---{ Game Time }--- ☐ Long enough for a cup of coffee ☐ Short ☐ Average ☐ Long β˜‘ To infinity and beyond ---{ Price }--- ☐ It's free! ☐ Worth the price β˜‘ If it's on sale ☐ If u have some spare money left ☐ Not recommended ☐ You could also just burn your money ---{ Bugs }--- ☐ Never heard of β˜‘ Minor bugs ☐ Can get annoying ☐ ARK: Survival Evolved ☐ The game itself is a big terrarium for bugs ---{ ? / 10 }--- ☐ 1 ☐ 2 ☐ 3 ☐ 4 ☐ 5 ☐ 6 ☐ 7 β˜‘ 8 ☐ 9 ☐ 10

A more complex in depth version of SimCity 4, with a serviceable amount of simulation. It doesn't hold the same replayability as SC4 or Cities Skylines but it is fun for what it is.

This game with all it's quirks is still more impressive than cities skylines 2. How a solo dev can create a city builder that's less broken and more stable than cities 2 is beyond me. By all means this isn't a perfect game but I felt it was worth the purchase to support the development of Citystate metropolis. This developer deserves it. I would definitely recommend it for people who want a light city builder mixed with a political sim.
