Edit: The premium currency was replaced with $5 DLC packs. As of writing this, it's $15 for every skin in the game. That's a lot compared to the price of the game, but actually super low compared to most other games with paid skins out there ATP (I'm looking at you COD). Also, instead of the commentators telling you "Buy Clonebucks!" every time you preview a skin, they now do a unique quip about that skin. Significantly less annoying IMO Original Review: Game itself is still really good but the cosmetics were not added gracefully. The explosions every time you swap skins and commentator bots shilling every time you click a premium skin got old quick
I LOVE roguelikes, Risk of Rain being one of my favorite franchises, so I wasn't suprised when this game appealed to me. The combat is fluid and incredibly satisfying, all the different playstyles are fun, and it's one of my favorite games. The story mode is decent (the cutscenes are very chopped) but I think the challenges are where most of the fun is at, since I'm a hardcore completionist. If you're looking for info on the multiplayer experience, look elsewhere because I've only played it singleplayer. Also the music is cool. That's about it. Edit: I tried playing the Last Bot Standing gamemode, and didn't have that much fun since there aren't that many servers, so nearly every game I played was with some guy with Mk V cosmetics who would kill me in 30 seconds. But I think that's just a skill issue on my part.
