Summary overall from me and others I've seen : Game can be fun. worth a try at the least. I would agree 70 is a bit much, perfect game to buy when on sale or full price after a few DLC drops. (As long as said DLC drops don't increase the price.) People somehow confused and angry they get locked out of side quests when ignoring them and powering through blindly (Not sure how that tunnel vision is the games fault but I digress.) I never leave reviews but I'm making an exception for this one. Short and sweet, The game is pretty great. Can have a lot of fun figuring out fun builds and smacking down bosses and finding dungeons. There are a few drawbacks that can be improved upon but I am hoping to see the game reach further because I think it can. Pro's- Fun boss fights, good customization, Can use your brain as much as you want basically. Con's- Vehicles need the gravity turned on, could use some more chaos and variety on the open map portion.
I waited until hitting the 100 hour mark before writing this review. Titanic Scion offers some of the most fluid, fast-paced movement I’ve ever experienced in a video game, and its combat focus is top notch. While it’s often labeled a Mech game, it feels more like an “Exosuit” experience, and that distinction really works in its favor. The game runs very well overall, with only the occasional traversal stutter. The graphics aren’t flashy, but they have a classic charm that fits the style perfectly. Combat leans heavily toward melee, with shooting feeling more like a secondary tool though the shoulder weapons pack far more punch than the hand rifles. If the game has a weak spot, it’s the story. On paper, it’s solid, but the execution falls flat. Thankfully, the gameplay loop more than makes up for it, keeping me hooked for well over 100 hours. The OST is an absolute banger.
My assessment of this game is exactly the same as the first. Your enjoyment will largely depend on if you're the target audience. IMO DxM1 was a 7/10+ for mecha fans, but a middling 5-6/10 for anyone not already engrossed in the genre. It helped that, at the time, as an armored core fan, AC6 was not even a whisper, so fans were STARVED for mecha games. DxMTS Expands on what made the first game unique, and stays within that scope. The same weaknesses of the first game- namely, writing, are present as a result. If you like looter shooters, omnidirectional mecha combat ala Armored Core, Monster Hunter, and don't mind a mid story, then this game is solid. If you're on the fence, play the demo and if you're still on the fence after, wait for a sale. If you meet the above requisites (I.e, fan of Armored Core namely Gen 4) then you'll likely enjoy this.
