Overall it is a really fun game, don't get me wrong! The only issue I have is the overlap of stories, if you don't complete them 'right' you get locked out of a relationship at all with some characters. Such as florence and celia. I'm stuck in a dialogue loop because I didn't do Stella's storyline 'correctly' so now I cannot complete the game unless I restart, it really takes the fun out when I have to look at a guide to make sure it doesn't happen with anyone else. Really wish there was still a way to complete the game without doing very specific steps.

This game isn’t really a dating sim (or at least not an usual one) Personally, I loved the game and I can clearly see how much effort the team put into it. The artwork is beautiful, the character designs are fantastic, the voice acting is on point and I was entertained for hours. However, if you’re used to games where you spend lots of time with your favorite character, fall in love with them, and feel deeply hurt when the story ends, Date Everything might not be what you’re looking for. Here, we have many characters, limited screen time for each and endings that aren’t as romantic as we’d probably like (guys i swear some endings are just WTF JUST HAPPENED LOL XD) I do recommend it, but more as a “help other people solve their problems” simulator than a dating sim.

A tooltip in this game says that the triangle is the only percussive instrument that is played on both the up and down stroke. Musical bones, spoons, the Bodhrán, and washboards are also played this way. The Tambourine can be also. This doesn't matter, and I still recommend the game, but I had to say this somewhere.

So... I'm not usually someone to go for this type of game. I'm aroace, I don't really get crushes, and therefore never thought that a dating sim would at all interest me. However, after enough youtube lets plays had popped up on my feed, it convinced me to at least give it a try for, if nothing else, the character designs (they are incredible after all, hats off to the designers for that!) The fact that the game outright says that romancing is not necessary either - that you can just as well befriend everyone (or even make enemies), well, it really intrigued me. And, safe to say... I'm kind of obsessed? I mean, I knew the character designs were going to blow me away, like I said they're all so incredible and inspired. Using bubbles in place of fur to line a bathrobe for the bath character? Using a plastic loofah as a boutonnière for the shower? The wooden slats of a bed frame as a corset for the bed? I love it! However, what has kept me returning to the game time and time again is the absolutely stellar writing. The comedy is on point (for my tastes anyway), and the characters feel real. What's more, I actually find myself seeking out the romance endings of most, if not all of them! And that has really surprised me! I know it might sound a bit silly to say that about a dating game (I mean, you buy it for the romance right?), but I know from experience that often, when presented with a romance path in a game, I recoil and avoid it. It feels as though something is crawling under my skin, when a game adresses me personally and, I guess, "flirts" with me. It's why I rarely ever create myself in games, only characters to roleplay as. However, Date Everything is... different. The romance has natural progression, and the suggestion from the characters to end on a "love ending" is never sprung on to me (well, except for when it's done as a joke - but like I wrote earlier, the comedy is on-point for me.) It feels as though the game itself knows and respects my boundaries. So hey, if you, the person reading this, is on the fence about buying the game because you're concerned it might make your skin crawl from unwanted romantic attention from the characters? Well... It still might, I can only speak for myself after all. But if you relate to what I wrote in this review, I think it's worth giving this game a shot. All in all, this aroace, romance-averse person is giving Date Everything a 10/10 for stellar writing and character designs!
