This game is simple and fun. A single playthrough is about 2-3 hours. This game is really funny and silly, particularly in the beginning. The tone of the game stays the same, so no worries of any twists to drive up the drama. There's not much of a story in the game, just the initial setup of living with a bunch of gorgeous women. It's fairly predictable with what is going to happen from scene to scene if you've played this type of game before. Yet, the entire experience is rather relaxing and just puts a smile on your face. I found the cast of characters all charming and entertaining to interact with. I found the endings to be too short and disappointing. I figured since the game was so short that maybe the endings would be the big payoff, but that's not the case here. Production is mostly solid. My only gripe is the editing could have been better, a majority of the scenes linger a few seconds too long. Sometimes this works to the particular scenes benefit, otherwise it just feels awkward. Post content there are photos and videos to see once unlocked. Which is nice to see but it's nothing special. What I don't like is that developer chose to put behind the scenes and more photos behind a paywall. There's even special videos for each girl and animated photos as DLC, that are priced really high. I really think this could have been included in the base game, as other games have offered photos and videos to be unlocked by unlocking achievements. Overall this is a fine game that does what it needs to do, entertain the player, and doesn't overstay it's welcome.
★★★⯨☆ 3.5/5 A fun and easy-to-play visual novel Roommates Romance & Ringing Hearts is a fun and easy-to-understand game without any complicated routes or confusing choices. The character models have their own funny style, which fits the overall atmosphere pretty well. The chapter routes work great, and I didn't encounter any bugs during my playthrough. The English translation is also very good and easy to understand. The game definitely has that classic Japanese style: crazy, funny, and full of extreme reactions. 😂 Some scenes are completely over the top, but that's also part of the charm. The achievements are very easy to unlock and don't require any major effort. Overall, I think this is a good game for players who don't have much time and just want something relaxing to play, have some laughs, and switch off for a while. My two favorite characters were Anon and Mirei. ❤️ One thing I noticed is that the voices were recorded live during development, so some of the voice lines can be a little difficult to hear or understand. It's not a huge issue, especially for a smaller game, but it is worth mentioning. I also noticed that there are DLCs available. Unfortunately, I haven't tested them because they are quite expensive for what they offer. Overall, a fun little visual novel with simple routes, good translation, funny characters, and plenty of crazy Japanese-style humor.
