Disgaea 6 is contentious among the fanbase for trying a lot of new things, and I don't think all of them worked well, but it's worth a try if you enjoy the series, and has a surprising amount going for it. I didn't really care for the cast at first, but in classic Disgaea series most of them develop well and become good characters later. Zed came out of nowhere to become one of my favorite MCs of the series, and several other characters came out quite well too. The story is decent, not the best ever but honestly none of the Disgaeas have *good* stories, just 'good enough.' Mechanically, it's a mixed bag, with massive number inflation that I absolutely hated, but a lot of cool ideas with trying to make every class unique, an economy that actually *works* unlike any other Disgaea, the Juice Bar was great, and I love a lot of systems like shared team XP and specials/basic attacks both being viable builds. The autobattle system is nice for grinding, but it feels like some things were balanced around spamming it, and I didn't like that. Map design, unfortunately, is awful. Just very flat. Messing with the Demonic Intelligence to set up autobattle parameters is surprisingly fun, and overall I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed the system - as well as how salty I was that 7 utterly ruined it, both breaking some of its functionality as well as making it far too limited. I think this game overpriced by default, but if it hits a decent sale, it's worth a try. Don't go into it expecting a better Disgaea 5, which is still the best of the series imo, but it's a fun experiment that doesn't overstay its welcome and has one of the better casts/stories of the series.

Similar to other disgaea games. Cutscenes a bit long and plot was silly but still fun.

It was indeed pretty different experience than other disgaeas, but i mean, as someone that platinum a bunch of NIS game i found that game an interesting twist. But i must admit that the menus feel really clunky and some other stuff doesn't seems too much polish. Not sure why people complain about the sprites being 3D or something else, idk, the visuals look good to me and the story was pretty good in my opinion. But i am someone that can handle grinding and i think it was an interesting game to play, the DI (auto-battle) system was actually pretty cool too, normally would have been way faster to complete a disgaea game with this, but instead they made the game more grindy. You will need to manually play the game when then AI cannot win and to reincarnate and stuff. But yeah, it was an unique experience from the disgaea series, personnaly i thought it was pretty good. Also for someone that just want to beat the main story it can go pretty fast so you dont waste too much time doing that and there is a bunch of tricks that can help you grind level faster like the suicide squad prinnies etcé You can beat the game way faster than i did, i just prefer try the game by myself before reading stuff about it and discover all the hidden stuff that can make it easier/faster

This review is kinda tricky: Disgaea has reused the same sprites and animations going back all the way to 2003, and that only works for so long. That's what brings us to Disgaea 6 with the full shift to 3D models, which it'd be a major understatement to say was a HUGE change. On the plus side, I felt like they were able to successfully recreate the style and feel of the sprites with the new 3D models, and I'm really happy with the transition overall. However, if you go into this expecting as much stuff as there was in 5, that's just not realistic when they're basically starting from scratch with this one. They're going to have to build back up to where they were over the course of a couple of games. Tl;dr it's not as good as 5, but I'd still call it a good step forward for the series

If you like Disgaea, it's good! Get it! Check system specs, ofc, it runs fine for me, barring the occasional crash. (Not sure what causes the crash yet) Some units didn't make the cut! Be wary your beloved Valkyrie may not be in this game :( There's an intense auto-battle feature that you can customize, so I got the FF12 tingles! Thankfully with Autosave and saving after doing stuff in the hub, you'll have no troubles from crashes, as long as its not in the item world. 💀 There's a lot of wild reviews! if you like Disgaea you'll have fun! 😎
