This is a good lightweight simulation game. The game has a narrative with a story (not very good) but I'm guessing if you are curious about this game, it's not because of a good story but because you want to drive big ass cranes and move boxes, the game delivers in this aspect. I don't think the current "mixed" reviews are fair to the game. The game does not pretend to be something it isn't, there is a demo available which clearly shows off the loading aspect of the game (you also have logistics to handle and this is not covered in the demo). I've played for 8.7 hours and there are very few bugs that I've encountered, it's more polished than most games that are being released. I recommend the game, if you are unsure if the game is for you then try the demo!

So far so good as far as performance goes. Runs smooth and no crashes. In typical Sabre Interactive fashion, you should use mouse / kb and a controller for finer driving, especially for the straddle carrier. The game is entirely mission based so no open world / free movement. A couple hours in and most mission are between 10-20mins. The rest of the game is just a management simulator. You unlock upgrade your shipping yard with more vehicles to increase throughput and make more money. Edit: I wish there was an option for a neutral review. I probably only have a couple more hours to go to finish off the story. The story is hilariously bad. It starts off fine with the port getting hit by a hurricane and you're coming back to town to help dad fix everything. As you go through the story, you find out your mom died in a quick comment during a mission, you're a musician and your friend is putting your music on a streaming platform and is hyped that you're getting 2000 views lol. Spoilers i guess? The port breakwater isn't able to get fixed because something happens during a mission and your dad is running out of money to fund the port. The solution? Your guy does a livestream and miraculously that works lmao. Anyways the missions are very repetitive and you're going to get tired of them (the boat mission is fun though). There isn't going to be any replayability unless you feel like doing all the same missions again.

I think people are expecting different things from this game. This is not "Unload a cargo ship simulator", and if that's what you expected, I understand why you might be disappointed. It has some light management sim elements, and most of the actual crane work comes in the form of missions. They're already increasing in difficulty after a few hours, and personally I appreciate the game having a little more structure. The mission structure also leaves a lot of room for expansions later down the road (hopefully). Tl;dr, it depends on what kind of sim you're looking for. If you want to be in a crane for 6 hours straight and load and unload an entire cargo ship, this is not for you.

Honestly a very fun game. You have alot to do, and many choices to pick from. Love the realism and simulation for both the cranes, trucks, shipping and so on. Not many Games in this simulation genre has this form of relism, physics, weather graphics and sounds. Even the damaged containers and so forth is good looking and quality. Now i understand this game just released today. So ofcourse there is gonna be things we want and don't want. Now.... I would realy love, that when you reach a certian point in this game, you can choose to start unloading the whole ship and ofcourse have a multiplayer option where you can play with friends on same jobs and work together. Imagen you and your buddy in each STS Crane, unloading/loading a whole container ship on a scale of a Laura Maersk. Just vibing unloading/loading. That would be so fun. Maybe even start on your own company and build up and so on. Ofcourse i have the wish where you can choose world wide for locations. and Yes iknow this require alot of work form the team and developers, but hey, It's a wish. The way i see it, this game has so much potential and options given time. Everything is good, other then the missions is a bit mini sized on how much you do and is a bit tunnel vision on how you complete them. Other then that, You learn alot from this type of work and it feels realistic. The machines sounds awesome both engine wise and siren like. Now i dont use any from of simulation setup so i don't know how this game handles that, but for keyboard, i say its in the midle. The standard setup is a bit tricky to get used to, but once u do, you feel like a dock worker for real. So for now after playing the game for 5 hours i would say 9/10 so far.

I like simulators, and I'm glad to see what port machinery looks like. Note that this game is nothing like SnowRunner though developed by the same developer, which means it's not an open world exploration, and if you are using steam deck then bad news, it runs poor on steam deck :)
