Totally forgot this in my backlog but I really missed the cast/characters in this one! So you're finally a rich guy to start off a game and you have the choice between 6 pretty girls and different companies/businesses to invest to so you can grow the Half-Billion money your dad gives you. Mei Baolai is in here, so is Moneybags Mengrue, so it's already a pass in my FMV radar. The achievements were pretty easy to get except the black sheep one which required RNG in the 1st chapter's campfire (PC time were you get to check where to invest and get good returns for chapter 2) Will love to replay this again in the future!
"Half Billion" is a surreal simulation business interactive game, -> agreed, cause the business part is chosing to 'invest' from a folder or because you like some lady, or cause you're in a bar and like the drinks & atmosphere. I just got the feeling the business part was secondary to 'building report' with the ladies, which kinda devalueates the whole business aspect. So in short, interesting ideas, enjoyable game but lacking some depth.
It’s a good game overall. The acting is really strong, and all the characters have something to like about them. The endings are a nice mix of funny, sad, and romantic moments, which kept things interesting. My biggest gripe with the game is the investment and money mechanics. During my first playthrough, I got lucky and made a lot of money by investing in Bitcoin, and I thought the game would become easier from that point on. However, even with plenty of money, the story stayed mostly the same. That’s when I realized the mechanic is pretty underwhelming, unless you completely run out of money, it doesn’t have much impact on the story and mainly only affects the endings. Overall, it’s a good game, but the money and investment systems could have been better utilized. 7/10.
