Casual semi-idle game with a nice charm. It's simple to learn, fairly strategic, and a nice time killer.

I'll preface this with that for the price you can't really go wrong, I got it on sale for 1,99 euro. I think I got about that much enjoyment out of the game. BUT... As a whole, I didn't enjoy Dragon Cliff. It's fine to have on in the background but the problem is that most of the time, your idle progress just isn't meaningful, it won't make you stronger. Sure, you get resources, but you'll mostly be making the same weapons/armors over and over again without making progress. And then there's timed quests, which just sucks in an idle game. There are a lot of unlockables for the patient, and there is a lot of gametime to be spent here especially for the price tag, but this just wasn't what I was looking for. I wouldn't have given it a positive review if I had gotten it at full price (9,99 euro).

Great little game. It's not perfect, the progression is more like stairs, rather than a hill. You sometimes hit hard walls, and have to farm for a long time and figure out how to min/max better, just to keep going. Some people might love that challenge, some people might get bored and quit. The game requires you to keep your PC running in order to progress. This is a massive downside, compared to other idle games in the genre. IF you're not willing to leave your computer running 24/7 to really maximize progress, be prepared to have FOMO. Other games I have played in the genre like Melvor Idle, and Legends of Dragaea: Idle Dungeons, you can exit the game and return to off-line progress. From what I understand, the mobile version of the game DOES have offline mode. What a bummer the desktop version does not. The translations are hilarious and sometimes very bad. The broken English is often very confusing, and requires you to google or wiki for answers how a good many mechanics work. In fact, almost every time I discovered a new mechanical layer, I had to wiki how the hell the mechanic worked. Be prepared to not know wtf is going on unless you google it, and even then expect it to remain a mystery. I suggest putting it on your wishlist and buying it for it's on supersale. It's probably not worth the full price for most people, but for $2-3USD it's a really cute little game. PROS: Lots of steps of progression and added layers of power that start to compound on themselves, that start to feel good when you make synergies. CONS: No off-line progress. Very goofy and poor translations in many places. Confusing tooltips that require you to Google how things actually work. NEUTRAL (could go either way depending on how you like to game): Difficulty will sometimes brickwall, but can be overcome with cleaning up your team and gear, and will sometimes require longterm investment in order to transition strategies.

Yes, its a semi idle. Difficult ways to level up and hard to understand the mechanic??? I played it for thousands of hours in the background. But its a good game. A good grind. Play it if you like. 6/10.
