Games works fine for me, tabbing out might crash it so fullscreen-window is the way to go. If you have troubles, check a Steam guide for the game. Save as much as you can, seriously, saves can break here and there and the autosave is dogshit. It's not as bad as Stalker but you still gotta save often. I just adore this game, I have always played it when I was a kid. The game still holds up nicely and it took me roughly 70 hours to finish it completely, doing most side quests and exploring most areas of the game. The characters all feel unique and there is a lot of depth for each of them too, especially if you create your own and skill it the way you like. Pretty much all areas of the game feel unique and just look great with lots of various details. I never felt uncomfortable or truly annoyed by an area - but they might be a little tedious or boring here and there. The quests are fun to do - even the side quests. Puzzles are sprinkled in here and there and the game isn't easy too! It definitely needs some tactic and planning if you don't cheese every encounter. The combat is round-based and every attack, spell, potion or trap has different values, timers and whatever so you kind of have to get into the whole groove to really find out what works best. The camera can be a little disorienting and the AI sometimes gets stuck but it's nothing to really cry about. The voice-acting (especially in German) is great and features a lot of known actors. My favorite is the WoW-song guy that you'll meet early in the game. Die Horde rennt, remember that from 2006? The game is well-worth the 10 bucks and even more worth the 2 on sale. There is so much to explore and do in this game, it's so fun even so many years after release. I can't recommend it enough if you enjoy DnD-esque RPGs.

Too bad there aren't (not to my knowledge) more cRPGs based on The Dark Eye pen and paper system. Very complex, yet a lot of the things happen in the background so you can play without caring about min maxing and stuff like that, and still have a lot of fun despite the game not having difficulties to choose from. I wish more stuff on your character sheet would be explained properly, but as I said, that's only if you care about understand every roll that goes behind anything you do. 10/10 would highly recommend

I've had this game in my steam library for almost 15 years and all of a sudden decided this is the year I was going to try it. CRAZY funny how a 15 year old game is better than the majority of new games these days. Just wow.... I have to say this game brings it. If you can get past the dated graphics, the hardcore abilities, stats, ruleset, etc is all there for a solid game. I'm genuinely having a great time with this and its LOOOooooong in terms of playtime. I feel this is a 100+ hour game easily if you're trying to beat it and do it all. Heck, I've put in 35 hours and my guys are only level 6 or so I think the game goes up to 20? Although I heard players were wrapping it up with level 16's and 17's. Still, that means I'm only 1/3rd to 1/4th of the way into the game at 35 hours so do the math...this game will take a long amount of time to complete if you're a completionist. All in all I'm totally digging it. And to think they've got two more Drakensang games that came out after this to tackle next if the want arises.... :P
