I used to play Dungeon Defenders on PS3 and got back into it with a friend about three years ago. We’ve gotten to the point where we’re beating boss maps on Nightmare, and the game is still genuinely fun even all these years later. I really don’t understand the hate over the developers adding new content to a game that came out in 2011. If anything, I think it’s cool that someone came back and started adding new characters, skins, and updates instead of just letting the game die. I personally probably won’t buy any of the new skins, but they’re skins. They don’t change the gameplay, they don’t make you stronger, and nobody is forcing you to buy them. If you don’t like them, just don’t buy them. Also, people seem to forget that keeping an old online game running still costs money. Servers cost money, maintenance costs money, and development costs money. If selling optional cosmetics helps pay for that and keeps the game alive for the people who still enjoy it, I really don’t see the issue. I would much rather have the option to buy new content than have no new content at all because the developers decided it wasn’t worth supporting anymore. For a game this old to still have an active playerbase and still be getting updates should be seen as a good thing, not something to complain about.
This title is easily the most unjustly overlooked entries in the TD/RTS genre of all time!. Between the charming visuals, an epic score, and deep strategic gameplay, it is a definitive recommendation for any fan of the category. The character progression offers incredible depth; the vast array of gear allows for endless min-maxing, making it easy to invest thousands of hours across multiple builds. I also want to highlight the community, which is exceptionally helpful and welcoming—I wouldn’t have secured every Steam achievement without them. A special thanks to my top five Sherpas: Spronlock, Sunseeds, EenMark, Sharticusii, Teinelai and PeaRat. For Etherea!
I've had this game all the way back on ps3 since the demo. this is the greatest tower defense game of all time and i recommend it to everyone that i meet that asks about games they haven't played. I'm super happy about the recent support and thank everyone involved. you've brought me and my friend countless memories.
