I really like how this game streamlined the 1st Dungeon Defenders format. The heroes are better designed and the towers have more variation. That combined with quickly changing between multiple heroes on the fly really helps this game play a lot smoother. Frankly, it's better than the original game in every way EXCEPT the lack of local multiplayer. I'm still mad at it for not implementing 4-player co-op though. I don't think it even has split screen on Switch. Either way, this is way more enjoyable to play with my kids than the first one that's just a grind fest. If you like tower defense games, it's pretty fun. Not the best. Not the worst. But I like it.

When this first came out it was buggy, but now it is a breath of fresh air compared to DD1. There's so many quality of life changes compared to DD1: - Individualised instanced loot but still can trade with others - They have a rune system now which lets you customise char abilities/turrets - mana given to chars at start of each round (instead of running around to get chests) - Loot filter is a lot more accurate - Level up a deck of heroes together - Levelling and gear progression is fluid - Armor is turret based stats and weapon is more dps based... so all chars can be dps & turret - Transmog options for gear, pets, accessories, outfits etc

If you haven't played dungeon defenders 1 just play this instead unless you like a "classic feel" it's just less frustrating to navigate through than the 1st I'm sure it's great if you played it before but this one is just less annoying to play. Also less DLC and the ones this one does have are just cosmetic.

I like the quality of life changes here in DDA. Just wish they'd port over more maps/challenges!

Honestly a good game, not sure what the negative reviews are on about. If you liked DD1 I think you'll like this game!
