I really like I really like the fact that... that it has a EBOLA in it. They UNDRPLAYED The village aspect IMHO. I'm due for my circumcision this coming Friday. I'll send a before and after attatched to this review. Peace and Love, pound it noggin SEE YA. Ebola is pretty cool imo.
I finally got to dive into the world of this indie game, and I must say, I didn't regret it! The graphics are detailed and beautiful, with a lot of attention to detail. The gameplay is good—it combines elements of survival and exploration, in the classic style of good old survival games. Overall, the rating is positive.
Ebola Village is a FPS zombie horror game that takes place in a small USSR village. The game feels like a cross between the Resident Evil 7/8 games and the Dead Island franchise. The puzzles are very akin to Resident Evil, but the game's exploration is more open world like the Dead Island games. There is no hand holding or linear path where to go. You must explore, find items, and solve puzzles yourself to open doors and discover new pathways. This game took 4.5 hours to complete my first playthrough. + The immersion in this game is fantastic. By dropping the player in the village with no real guide, it is up to the player to search everywhere on their own to find clues and solve the puzzles. This lead to a real sense of adventure. Even more than the latest Resident Evil games, where you can find yourself kind of going through the motion and on rails at times. + The game looks somewhat modern on max settings, it doesn't look or feel janky at all. + The zombies break apart while you shoot them. Heads get blown off, arms get blown off, its nasty and alot of fun. The shotgun is always super fun to use. + The soundscapes in the game are really well done. The eerie creaks inside the homes, the thunder and lightning outside, the complete void of music, all very atmospheric. + The voice acting is not in English, I didn't understand it, but it seemed well voice acted enough. There are many languages for the subtitles. + The story is simple, but there are minor sub plotlines in the game to discover with twists. + The puzzles are well balanced and original, no guide needed. + Multiple boss fights. +/- The game has loading screens like the original OG Resident Evil 1-3 games with the doors opening. The is an awesome throwback, but sometimes they are placed too close to each other and to get to certain areas you have to go through 3 of these quick loading screens one after another. - The music in the opening menu is irritating. - A few too many trips back to the storage box for inventory management. - Could really use some unlockable infinite weapons, for beating the game on hard etc... - There are only 2 guns to find and use in the game. - Some of the house interiors are complete asset flips that I have seen before, albeit decorated differently. - The combat is a bit too easy. Ammo is everywhere. Yes the game copies Resident Evil heavily, but to me it didn't feel jank or low budget. Lots of fun and an excellent sense of immersive adventure. This game is getting released on PS5 this week and many reviewers are bashing it online. I don't get the vitrol bandwagon hate. If interested, try it! Overall: 8.5/10
