It's neat, although it didn't quite catch me. There's an absolute heap of content here, and more storytelling than I expected to string it together, but it's also more than a little clunky. Everything is "alt click to bring up this tooltip" and the game comes with a player's guide---it expects you to dig fairly deep into systems and menus if you want to master it. I think the engine here could be used for a very compelling single player story, and by relying on procedural generation it covers more ground but in a less satisfying way. I do think the card game mechanics are great, but they're just clunky enough to not quite hit the Slay The Spire sweet spot where they're good enough to carry a lack of story. As best I can tell, this is an extremely ambitious project by a solo dev and I think that's worth supporting. However, you might want to start with one of the later Erranorths and come back here if you really liked that one. Edit: Tragically, the second title uses a crapton of AI. If that's a dealbreaker for you, you should get this one instead.

I tried out several card type games. I realized they really are not for me. Why the review? This one was fun, engaging, and seemed like it was planned well. While I found out this is not my genre, it felt like there was a lot I could do to change the impact on the game, unlike several other games I tried. From the amateur standpoint in this genre, this seems like a well developed game.

Very nice and entretaining RPG/deck builder. You play classes / races. But single race or class deck are possible. Lots of modes. Even a kind of RPG campaing mode.

One of the best RPG card games I have played. It has a large amount of races and classes which you can mix and match to play how you want. Almost all the ones I have put time into so far react differently giving different options based on what your playing and how you react to different scenes. I watched this game for a long time before i bought it to try and I highly recommend just getting the base game and trying it out.

Really fun deck building game. LOTS of cards in this game. You choose a class and a race, each which has its own sets of cards and then you also get equipment which will add even more cards to your deck. All of the class and races play differently and have lots of different cards that interact with each other in different ways. If you like coming up with crazy builds in a game, this is for you. Some may say the game is TOO complex. That there are too many abilities on cards and some of them are poorly worded or explained. It does take some time to really figure out what is going on, especially if you keep changing classes or races, but if you stick with the same class or race for a few playthroughs, you will start to understand how they play and how their cards interact. Game has mod support which is nice, some of the artwork in the base game is a little too NSFW for me and too computer generated, so I was happy to download a mod that changes the graphics for the better. If you want a fun deck builder, which may be overly complex for the sake of being complex, this is for you.
